Default vinegar makes your glassware clean

My household secret:

To remove the stains from your glasses, cups, mugs and glassware, put all of them in dishwasher and add a cup of vinegar. without adding anything else, start the dishwasher.

they will come out clean as new with no spots on them

i do this every 3 weeks to clean my glassware from the dishwasher spots(salt deposits or marks)

Default talcum powder removes oil stains

if you get oil stain on your clothes, put talcum powder on those spots. leave for few hours and then wash them.

i have been doing this from my childhood and it has always worked.

I didn't get all the way through the 51 pages so don't know if this one has been mentioned before or not. Spray your shower curtain (if that's what you have), with bleach water, both front and back, and this will keep the mildew from growing on it.

I hate a slimey shower curtain.

ETA: I've made it through the first 20 pages or so and note that many people have posted about herbal uses, citric acid, essential oils, etc. This company http://http://www.herbalcom.com/store.php3?list=cats&alpha=yes&lett=a-dA-D (broken link) has the most amazing variety of products and their prices are wonderful. I use stevia as a sweetener and they sell the pure stevia extract for $24 a lb--about half what you would pay in a health food store. Only drawback is that much of what they sell is in 1 lb. sizes.

CUNUCU - I never realized I could wash a good quality plastic shower curtain in the washing machine. I don't have a shower curtain now - but in the past, I would just take them down every so often, use some bleach in w/ detergent and VOILA - clean shower curtain. Just get it out as soon as the cycle is over - and hang it up to dry - wrinkles all fall out.

I've done that, too, and, like you, was surprised that all the wrinkles came out after hanging. Using a bleach water spray on my shower curtain has pretty much eliminated the need to take down the slimey shower curtain and wash it periodically.

I run mine thru on the gentle cycle and even the hair color stains come out....no matter how hard I try to make sure there's none splashed, there always is!!!

I use Clorox II = is that what you use? Or do you dilute regular Bleach? Yes, I have to agree - bleach has made a lot of my tasks easier! I know my momma hated using it cause she complained that it would splash and get on towels, rugs, etc. - but I am very careful when using bleach and the only things I have messed up are my clothes!!! I have leaned on surfaces I sprayed w/Clorox II. It happens!

To me, there is nothing like bleach. It sanitizes as well as kills mold and mildew. And it is cheaper than other household cleansers.

Oh, boy. Those hair color stains! I have had a time when I have accidentally dripped/splashed dye on rugs, cabinetry, etc. If I get to it soon enuff, I have found it will wash out (but that is when I have gotten to it immediately).

Someone told me to use hydrogen peroxide to get out haircolor stains. Anyone ever tried that? I wonder if that is true - and it works . . . ???
