And if the ride was $90, why did you sign the receipt? If the ride was supposedly $90 and the tip was $24, WHAT DID THE METER SAY?? Cause tips aren't built into the meter.
And... When you sign a receipt, it legally HAS to show the amount you are agreeing to.

You know, my best friend is cab driver.

When I told him about my story he said : " you know, we are in Vegas, this is how we make our money, without tip we can not survive. "

He didn't say nothing wrong about other driver charging me TWICE for the tip.

And he is one of my best friends here.

So if I couldn`t get better answer from him, what I can expect from one stranger here ?

Once again, ride was about 70 $, when we got our home he gave me to sign without saying anything, I saw total of 95 $ and signed.

My mistakes - didn't pay attention what meter says and didn't look what is in receipt.
Reason - we were coming from European flight,20 hours without sleep,taking care of our 2 children and 4 big luggage and bags.

His mistake - He was dishonest including tip in receipt without telling me anything , and taking cash tip after that (knowing he already took his tip using my credit card).

Somewhere I still have that receipt so if you want I can scan it and post it here.

And one more thing, which is even worse...

We told him our address (in Summerlin) .

He said we have 2 choices (freeways). He said he prefer using use longer way because to avoid traffic and come earlier.

When I told him its 11 pm and there should not be traffic anywhere he said "you never know".

We chose shortest way (freeway" and off course there was no traffic.

But the best thing is to come...

He said he never use GPS and he knows Vegas very well.

I fell asleep during the ride and my wife wake me up saying she think we are not on right way. She just saw RCWilley which is 4 miles from us.

He did exit from freeway too early and got lost. He was still 3-4 miles from our home.

Just on this we lost additional 10 minutes.

He said "sorry" about it later, but still said he is not going to use GPS in future.

And his "sorry" probably cost me additional money too .

The driver you had sounds like an idiot.

However, it sounds like the route was verbally negotiated from the get go. Why didn't one of you just say, "I'll tell you the easiest way home" if you were initially uneasy with it.
We get that a lot... People insisting we take their route. That's fine, we don't care.
Then you pass out and you are nowhere near home..? Ahhh... Dont pass out in a cab?

Then there is still the transaction... You didn't look at the receipt you signed? Nice...

again, how do you pump gas or use an atm or any BASIC credit function...

These posts are LESS than believable. They don't realize there is ONE way only a CC machine in cabs work in LV.

I'm going to assume that by cab haters you are referring to anyone that supports Uber. If that is the case, then you lose your bet. While I always rent a car while I'm Vegas I will occasionally use a cab, last time was during my trip last December. I've never had a problem in a cab though I tend to stay near the strip

I don't take credit/debit cards from anyone... Nor should you accept one as a driver.
The machine is literally right in front of the passenger's face. We do not take the cards because we know that there is the tip option for the passenger to choose. There is also the fact that the passenger has to accept the amount that is being run on their card.

I would suggest some people poke their head in a cab waiting in a line somewhere. You dont have to ride... But have a look and you will see that the machine looks no different from one you would see at a grocery or convenience store. There is simply an additional step built into that machine to put in a tip amount or to choose to not put in a tip at all. How is this difficult? People who dont even speak English are able to handle it just fine.
