Had green chile stew for lunch & dinner in ABQ on Tuesday! Wednesday we drove to Amarillo, stopping along the way to take some pictures at the Cadillac Ranch.

Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Texas

The plan for today (Thursday) was to drive to Dallas, but upon arrival, we decided to keep going for another couple of hundred miles and stopped for the night in Shreveport, LA. After checking into our hotel, we headed downtown to check out the casinos. Went into the Horseshoe and, between my wife and me, managed to drop $40 playing slots. We then grabbed some dinner along the riverfront and headed back to the hotel for the night. Tomorrow we'll drive the 350 or so miles to New Orleans and then spend the entire weekend in the French Quarter.

It's been a fun trip so far.

^^^ I'm jealous too! What a fantastic trip. I'd love to do something like that. Never mind LV will have to do instead

It's the opening ceremony for the Olympics tonight. Fingers crossed it won't rain. The weather has improved this last week or so.

Hope we put on a good show. Just our luck to follow the fabulous Olympics in China. I don't think anyone can top their opening ceremony. Probably the most amazing show ever seen.

I've been wanting to try some adventures, down the road, where I fly into a big city and see how far I get just using the bus! What an adventure! Get stranded somewhere, just call a cab, or go to the nearest Enterprise office and admit defeat!

I sampled that on a trip I made three years ago. No car! Sampled the bus routes in Tulsa, Houston and Shreveport, and the rest of the trip on Greyhound! So that trip whetted my appetite for more!

You may find this adventure so enjoyable (particularly if you like to read on the bus like I do) you may use the bus more often!

I'm planning, after summer is over, to acquire my Over 60 bus card ID, with greatly reduced bus fares. I believe the monthly pass for someone over 60 is $30 a month. Now how's that for cheap transportation in the Las Vegas valley! The equivalent of a tank of gas!

Fingers crossed it won't rain? In England? Better cross your toes, your arms and legs, too!
