In context, there are 1.5 Million people in Suffolk County.

Paywall.

But if Democrats are more likely to wear a mask, and wearing masks effectively reduces the spread, and blacks and Latinos are predominantly Democrat, why are blacks and Latinos disproportionately getting coronavirus?

No paywall for me.

If you can actually post a link to an article about something else (props to you, didn't think you could do it) why didn't you just answer your own question by posting a link??

Why do you need so much hand holding or are you purposefully obtuse?

Blacks and Latinos tend to live with more people in their homes so the chance of spread is higher. They tend to work more essential jobs so their chance of getting the virus is higher even with masks and PPE. Biologically there is a difference in the amount of Vitamin D a person with dark skin makes. Sick people with covid have lower Vitamin D levels. Some people think there might be a connection there.

It doesn’t go away. The flu comes back along with a lot of other viruses each year. At a certain point you learn to live with it. Flattening the curve was meant to give the healthcare system a chance to get their act together, nothing more.

BTW, stay shutdown and say good bye to restaurants. We talked with the owner of a one that has dine-in again and he said that him and the other restaurants he talks to are still going to have a tough time staying open as they cannot make up for lost sales.

It’s not a figure of speech, it was a goal. There has never been an actual plan to get the WiFlu under control.

huh? you don't have any idea if it comes back each year. Right now it looks like it's not seasonal and doesn't go away. We don't need to learn to live with it, we need to extinguish it Taiwan did it and we can too. I'm not sure why that is hard do understand. You deprive the virus of a host and it is gone. How do you do that?
  • quarantine those who test positive
  • enforce social distancing and wearing masks
  • use contact tracing to identify hot spots
  • monitor air travelers health who are entering the country

The problem is that we can't even get the selfish pigs in this country to reliably wear a mask so yeah it will probably never go away.

Sounds like something we should do with seasonal flu. Why don’t we?

Ummm maybe you’ve heard 30K die from it in the US each year. With and without getting the vaccine.
