Exactly what I was saying. And yet, they don't get to vote. That was my point.

That's obvious, but your chances of getting caught evading taxes are much higher than unlawfully voting in many states. And the consequences are generally more serious.

That's obvious. So we agree.

We agree that society expects people to comply with the laws of lands. That doesn't mean they do. That's why the IRS has a 13 billion dollar budget used in large part to monitor and enforce compliance.

Even if they require insurance they buy the one time shot to get the card and let it lapse. Cops don't have time to sort that out.

This is an effort spearheaded by the mass GOP. Basically a bunch of clowns. If it weren’t them advancing it then maybe it might go to ballot. Baker got vetoed because his position is illogical. The end.

Why is Bakers position illogical? He was concerned that Illegal Aliens would use their license to get on the voting roles. Do we really want Illegal Aliens voting? Is nothing sacred? Why do I have the feeling that if the Democrats thought the Illegals would vote for Republicans they would have agreed with Baker and made the Illegal Alien license a different colour?

I still say that something as controversial as this should be on the ballot. Let the Voters decide, Not the Heavily Biased Elected that have an agenda.

No I do not care about letting illegal aliens vote. I don’t care, at all, whatsoever. Not that I think it’d happen but if it did so what? What’s the problem?

“ The qualifications for registering and voting in a state are determined by that state’s law, rather than by federal regulation, as long as there are no violations of the federal Constitution. Despite the possibility for different qualifications by state, all states have chosen to require U. S. citizenship as a prerequisite for voter registration. But this was not always the case. Prior to World War I, immigrants were allowed to vote in local, state, and national elections in 22 states.

Although no state currently allows resident aliens to vote in state or federal elections, seven municipalities allow them to vote in local elections. Two Massachusetts cities, Amherst and Cambridge, have asked the state legislature for permission to allow resident aliens to vote in local elections.”

https://www.cga.ct.gov/2003/olrdata/...003-R-0679.htm

Connecticut gives IDs to illegal aliens no evidence of “voter fraud” there. People are just so interested in gatekeeping just to gatekeep… put that energy to something worthwhile.

Small steps amigo - the idea of noncitizens voting in any election was unimaginable just a few years ago yet here we are. Give it a few years and it will be federal elections now that local elections are the new normal, give it a few more years after that and we'll get to our undocumented "guests".
