Across the street it's time for new ownership to buy (The Shoppes of) Bel Air Mall. The owner is a known mall slumlord who buys properties on the cheap and neglects them to the point where they are sold off either by force (unpaid taxes, utilities, sheriff's sale, etc...) or if they somehow make a profit off selling the mall to another party.
Turning the mall into a mixed-use project would probably be it's best future use.

I definitely think that’s what that area needs. There’s a ton of surface parking around the mall that isn’t used. And we don’t need more random outparcel developments

It’s a rezone of 2 lots just northwest of Downtown off of MLK (google maps says the neighborhood is Owens, it’s a rezone of R2 to R3 in hopes of building 2 quadplexes
