Just wondering.
As one of those from Pioneer stock, those 2 can have whatever opinion they want, no matter how misguided or wrong it may be.

I've had Montguy on ignore for years. He pretty much wants Montana to become Seattle, which is the view of many liberals, and those that live in Berkley North, (Missoula). Everybody outside city limits disagrees with them, we know that's what they feel, they don't have any real impact on the rest of us, so we just enjoy ourselves and this wonderful state and let them simmer in their own bitterness.

NDak15 is a teacher I believe and wasn't making as much money as they wanted, and blames the state for not appreciating their own wonderfulness.

It doesn't bother me that they have to post their vitriol on this board because their hatred and unrealistic jaundiced view of the state helps convince others of their mindset to stay out.

If only the rest of us that love the state and its culture posted here, we'd be overrun with people wanting the same great life we've found.

So I say let them hate. It makes life better for everyone else that lives here.

It's not very livable here right now in NW Montana. Rentals in Kalispell are getting absurd. I've seen 2BR listed for $1,600 and that's not even in Whitefish.

Not sure what's happening here but soon Kalispell will be like California with families clown-housing into places just to afford rent.

By God Silver Tip, I could not have said it better myself.
As you know, I've been here almost 40 years (having come here from Colorado) where the handwriting was on the wall as related to what was happening to that state. Best decision I ever made was to follow my instincts and buy these 14 acres back in 1976 and kiss Colorado good bye.
Also, as you know, I had a job for almost 40 years, that required I travel (about 90% of the time) through about 14 western States which allowed me to search out, analyze, research, rate and compare various areas that my wife and I felt would be perfect for my 13 remaining years of working and then our retirement years.

Worked for almost 40 years in a job that I loved: been retired now for 24 years in a home that I built on a piece of land that I love and if I had to it all over again, I would not change a thing!...........Well, maybe I 'd "work-in a couple more" business trips to Alaska each year (4 instead of 2)
Ketch ya later my friend.

Well, no matter what people say, bad and good about Montana, I still think it's a terrific State, with still enough of "Western/cowboy" flavor. Really enjoyed the time I spent in both Boseman and Billing. Even when it snowed in Billings.

I really know how "newbe's" to an area can try to ruin it. Back in the mid 80's, I use to go to Jackpot Ropings in Norco, California. At that time, Norco was a nice "horse town" and there was even a story about Norco in Western Horseman magazine. Then, came the folks from Orange and L.A. Counties. They wanted to turn the horse paths into sidewalks and make Norco into a "big city" type environment. The locals/pioneers went nuts! I really wished them luck stopping this "big city" crap from happening.

Be aware, all unfamiliar readers, that much of what is posted on this forum from MTSilvertip is filtered through the narrow insights of what I've occasionally referred to as a "cowboy culture warrior"--which is to say, an egomaniac, lacking in all theory of mind, who childishly intertwines his personal identity with the state in which he lives (he's been seen emotively referring to it as "the homeland," in fact) and expects that a special, overarching values system be adhered to by his fellow citizens. Only people of inferior character disagree with him and deserve to be socially ostracized for doing so.

Did he not in essence just tell us that about 90% of the state thinks exactly as he does? Narcissistic much? (Talking to you too there, Griz )

As for me and Seattle, well, the only one who I've ever seen blather about Seattle is him. He lived there like 40 years ago, and he's still afraid of it.

So afraid of it that, just maybe, it inspires his accepting and positive comments elsewhere on CityData regarding Montana's place in the so-called "American Redoubt" movement, which involves Montana's joint secession from the union to form a theocracy-oriented nation-state alongside WY, ID, and the eastern halves of WA and OR.

I wonder if he's ever stepped foot in Missoula county, but that's another story...

Oh, and based on one of his previous outbursts, I'm a communist simply for having insights of Montana's heavily socialistic history. And yet...he's the most collectivist person on the whole forum!

The craziness goes on.

He does not have me on block mode, he never has (he was exchanging comments with me just this last May), and he will read this just as he read my other comments on this thread.

Now there you go, Silvertip, you've had your rant, I've given my rebuttal, and we can all just move on.

Montguy's First Law in action: Cowboy Culture Warriors think they're the opposite of SJWs; predictably dense people.
