It does. I need to start cooking more again. Lately it has been salads and chicken on the grill-not very creative.
I agree with what you said about Italian food vs American homecooking. I love Italian food but there is nothing like good old American comfort food-especially like mom used to make.

But it's conversations like this that remind us of how great our mom's were! My mom worked at least 60 plus Hrs/week at the restaurant with dad... if not more..how did she find the time to make all these great dishes for us?
Well tonight it's Chinese take away from the place in Blairstown: "New Ho Ho". Twins?

Absolutely. My mom worked her a$$ off too and still made good meals-even if there was not much food. Somehow they pulled it off. That is why they were so amazing.
I can't agree more. Mom was the backbone of the house raising us 3 boys, volunteering at school and scouts, and putting a great meal on the table 3 times a day.
And who can ever forget her famous words: "Wait till your father gets home?"
I don't think many of us could match moms of yesterday! Too difficult with everything on your plates. Both parents have to work in order to pay the bills...and the extra time is spent driving the little ones from one practice to another. Our sport was hanging outside until dinner was ready : )

Spam gets a bad rep..... grilled or fried, with cheese on toast or a toasted roll is pretty good.
