combined with a property hunt. Really interested in Catron county area, ( Wild Horse primarily) Leaving out of Prescott, not sure to go Hwy 60 or 40.
Were also going to make a run up to Yellowstone. Our first trip in a motorhome. Any input more than welcome.
If you are heading to Yellowstone give yourself at least a week. We are heading out on Wednesday to Glacier (3 days) and then on to Yellowstone (6) days. We have been to Yellowstone before but only had 3-4 days to explore.
Like no other place on earth that I know of!!!!!!!!
60 will give you a more interesting drive, but 40 will be faster & probably a bit esier with the RV...........
JDTH is right about Yellowstone..you need several days to see all its wonders!
Then there are other grea places in the area: Jackson Hole, The Tetons & going out of the North entrance into MT is an increible trip in itself.

Have a great- safe trip!
If you go to Jackson Hole don't forget to stop by The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar across from the town square. The bar stools are saddles.
The Tetons are also wonderful!
Wednesday we will fly to Spokane and drive over to Kalispell. Then on to St. Mary, Polson, Bozeman, Cody, Lake Yellowstone, West Yellowstone and back to Bozeman where we will catch a flight to Denver and then fly back home to Tempe on September 5.
Has anyone here ever gone this cowboy thing? And, if they have, how is it, what is it like?
I'd like to go to it this year but I'm concerned about camping/lodging accomodations. Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium in Ruidoso, New Mexico
We were there in 2007. The tickets for the meals sell out very quickly. If you want to eat the food from the Cowboy cook off you need to find tickets ASAP. If you want to attend I would call them tomorrow to see if tickets are still available. We didn't get tickets to eat the food, but it was still fun. We were told after the fact that usually they sell out by the beginning of August. It was really crowded.

OMG, I just checked their website, general admission (all day ticket is 20 bucks) lunch ticket is another 20.
I guess I won't be going, too expensive for me, can't afford.
Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it.
