I'm sure everyone would like to pay less, but the average rent for a 1br in Manhattan is $3350, so I think $1208 is more than fair.

That's weird they won't answer that. Did you try calculating your income yourself? I think the formula they use is: earnings year to date, divided by number of days worked, multiplied by 365.

they use a bunch of different formulas and take the highest. unfortunately they are unpredictable. plus they add extra income for assets and such. when i first went to the interview they said my income was too high but that was because they thought i was paid 26 times a year [every 2 weeks] as opposed to 24 times a year [2 times a month] and i corrected them and they let my application go forward.

I am back home and as I said how quickly the focus changes from beach and fresh air to when will this process start. I feel as I am living day to day pending this process. This is the last week of July and let's see what August brings. I feel like I am waiting to exhale.

i fear it is going to be a long wait because they said a 'couple of months' even after the process supposedly resumes in mid-august

Yes, they are forbidden to corral the 20% to lower floors, but they do it anyway. Money talks, and developers spread it around LOUDLY.

I guess it is my turn to contact BG. I haven't emailed them at all yet. But I don't want to bother emailing them now because I'm just going to get that same form email. I guess I will email them in August. I just wish I could press "Fast Forward".

I wonder how many other people are waiting? There are 29 community board units (and another 29 homeless). But only 5 of us waiting here.

Yeah they don't seem to be reading emails. What about calling? 29 actually sounds pretty good considering how quiet the message board is. God, I wish it would hurry up!!

I called at the beginning of June. They said the same thing, waiting for C/O. I wonder if they have all the CB people they need already or if they start calling more CB people when the lottery resumes in August? We will know that the lottery has resumed when people start posting in here again about being called.
