At $250 a pop that's a lot of money in their coffers. Some of these management companies are not that big. So, it a nice egg nest for them and most people are not going to request a refund.
Hi, can someone advise how to apply to York Hill Building. New to Michell-Lama process. when I googled, the only thing that came up was the York Hill CO-OPs application.
I'm looking to get on the list to RENT a studio.
Thanks in advance for any help. LH
York Hill is a Mitchell Lama co-op (not a rental), so everyone who lives there owns their own apartment. Also, there was a lottery already to be put on the waiting list. For York Hill you will have to wait until the lottery opens again sometime in the future. You can google Mitchell Lamas with current open waiting lists though and put your name on one of those. Good luck!
The lady at York Hill FIIIIINALLY answered my e-mail.
She estimates that it will be a 10+ year wait (more like 15+ years) for anyone on the current studio wait list. I couldn't ask about the 1 bedroom because there is something going on with that list and I am not sure/not on it.
Knowing that it will be 15 or so years, are any of you going to stay on the list anyway?
I'd stay on the list until I found something else. Make sure if you move or change your phone number that they have the updated information. You can remove yourself and get your money back any time and in the meantime, you never know what's going to happen with your life or the list or the city, so unless you need that money to eat, let it hold your place on the list.
I'm okay with staying on the list but what I am most afraid of is that they will privatize between now and then! lol
Then you get your money back for sure.
