just got my refund check in the mail
out of nowhere. they didn't even email me telling me why
so they can go fk themselves
hope i never get called from K&R EVER AGAIN
Same here. I had an extremely high log number so I had already given up hope, but I can't believe they are sending out checks with no explanation.
Same thing happened to me recently with a hospital. They just sent me a check out of the blue. Guess they realized they overcharged me for something, but just a check...no explanation.

what is the point of calling all these people if you know you won't have enough apts for them.
wasted 9 months of everyone's time for nothing.
really fuking stupid.
I know someone in the building; she said it's practically empty. Also, I called K&R about 3 weeks after the checks were dated and sent out and no one said anything about my application not being accepted or that my money was being refunded. Why not tell me then that something was up and I was going to get my money back? I just wanna know what's up...

Reason: More information added
Good afternoon. We sent out refunds to a large number of applicants that we believe will not have their application reviewed anytime soon. We received more interest in the lottery than anticipated so it is taking longer than expected to make it through the log. So instead of us holding onto the money orders, we are refunding them to applicants that are far down on the log. If we end up reaching your log number, we will review your application. And if we end up getting to the points where we are ready to approve your application, with the last step being the credit check, we will request the money order again at that time. But for now, refunding the money orders made the most sense. We apologize for the lack of explanation accompanying the check, but I hope this clears things up. Thank you and have a great night.

oh fk off
why the fk did they have to interview 10000 people for only 400 apartments if not less
I don't know if I should be annoyed that I don't have an apartment, or glad that I don't have an apartment if it means dealing with such incompetent and disorganized people...
Damn, what a mess! Glad I had decided not to go to the interview for this. I am finding the companies being used to vet applications for affordable apartments (not just this one) are pretty incompetent all around.
Got called in to see another apartment. I'll admit i'm a bot anxious because I wanted Alvista. However, I will say that the process has been nothing like alvista; to be called in ro view an apartment within 2/3 weeks of submitting my paperwork? Amazing...
