If you have two people or more in your household, you could ask for a two-bedroom.

There are no studios in this lottery, so if you are a single-person household, you would have to wait for a one-bedroom.

Other than that, as far as timing, your best bet is to monitor this forum and see when people ahead of you are getting apartments.

Also, keep in mind that documents “age out” after 120 days. So if you're waiting longer than that, you will have to submit everything fresh.

Thank you for this info. The process has seemed to move pretty quickly for me since being contacted that they were ready for process my info on 3/15 and then being on hold officially as of last week. Here's hoping there's a big batch coming soon for us waiting *finger's crossed* This forum alone has eased my anxiety so much though lol.

Question, is it worth it to try and call for updates or anything? I'm reading old posts now and I see that some ppl are pretty on it in terms of contacting their specialists. My email said that I will be contacted when they reach my log number. I don't wanna be a pest, but I also don't wanna lost out on a lottery opportunity (again) lol

I am log #15xx. I was told they expect to have more 1-bedrooms in August and to reach back out then if I haven’t heard anything. There are at least 100 people in front of me on the hold list.

I think the odds of you getting an apartment by the end of June are slim. (Hopefully I am wrong, because then that would mean we both get apartments by then!).

is there a way to see how many people are ahead of you on a hold list?

Question for those who have already moved. When you discontinue your Con Ed service at your current location, do you choose the "stop" option or "move to a new address"? I know electricity is included in the air conditioner fee but I'm not sure if Con Ed still needs to be updated.

That is a good question, Mickey. I would choose “stop.” I am a resident of Stuy Town but I am not a client of Con Ed and don't have an account. Con Ed doesn't even know I exist!

Stuytown Flea Market.
Have any of the graduates signed up to have a booth for the Stuytown Flea Market on May 21? I think that might be a good time to meet some of you. I'm still getting oriented and, have given many things to charities but, I have some things that might sell so, I have reserved a booth Row 1. Seat 47. I won't be there all day as, I didn't realize the Brooklyn Half Marathon is earlier that day so, I won't be there @ the start but, will likely be there in the late hours. Look forward to seeing some of you there!

I stopped mine, and that seems to have gone fine! Just received my final bill a few days ago.

You have to call or email them.

I didn't sign up for a booth (I'm rattling around in this one-bedroom with a small studio's worth of belongings, so I'm trying to get more stuff, not less haha) but am hoping to be able to shop there! I'll stop by to say hi if I do.
