I just got the same email and I'm log 14xx. Submitted my docs maybe November of last year so idk what's happening. I asked for more info so we'll see if i ever hear back
Wow, it is disheartening to hear there are people still waiting with such low log numbers. Hope you get something soon. Are you on the list for a one bedroom?

Interesting. Was your letter also from Ms. Price? I believe my specialist is Syed, which might explain why I didn’t get this letter.
Please let us know if you hear back. I’m especially curious since your number is relatively close to mine!

Does anyone know how many apt in total were allocated for the 2021 lottery?
If any of you get a chance to have someone on the phone could you ask how many apt are still up for grab until the end of the lottery please?
If I manage to have someone on the phone, I will ask... however it is so hard to get ahold of anyone at the office
I don’t think there is a specific number of apartments devoted to this lottery. The reason is that because of tenant-friendly legislation that was finally passed on Albany in 2019, landlords are limited in how much they can raise rents on vacant units.
Stuy Town/PVC both have long-standing tenants, people like me. These apartments have not been renovated. So when these people move out, Stuy Town is limited in how much the new rents can go up. So that is why there is this lottery. These are below-market units that are being given a minimal renovation and rented back out.
In a place as big as ST/PCV, vacancies are always happening. The problem is due to labor shortages and supply chain issues, the renovations are behind schedule. One of my neighbors passed away six months ago, and that apartment is still vacant, with no work happening.
At some point, this lottery will end and a new one drawn up. When that will happen, I do not know.
The lottery was originally supposed to end in February of 2023. Whether it ends as scheduled or is extended due to the supply/renovation issues is anybody’s guess.
I was informed that the specialists have no idea when new apartments will become available or how many. They’re not informed of when the units are expected to become available, they just process the applications next in line when they do.
Truly maddening. I am going to be devastated if this does not end up coming through for me.

People should be happy STPCV is renting out those vacated units. Elsewhere LLs with below market RS units, especially those recently vacated by a lifer tenant (20, 30 or more years), are just warehousing those units. This or in some instances when they are rented out unit is what it is; no renovations, painting, zip/nada.
In many instances LLs claim rent is so low on those units and they require tons of work to be meet current standards required by law it just isn't worth doing. Before a LL could renovate said unit and get a new rent at or near $2k. This got it out of rent regulation as well which was an added bonus. That's all over now as of 2019, so......
even if the specialists don't know when more units will become available, it's ridiculous that they "can't tell" how many people are ahead of a person on the hold list. I got an email from my specialist about a week or so ago (Ms. Wentt) that said she can't tell me how many people are before me on a hold list because her list contains also people waiting for 2-3 bedroom units. But that literally can be solved by just...sorting the list. Even I spent a slow work day sorting us on this forum by log numbers, unit size, and the dates we received hold list emails??? I wouldn't be so pressed if not for the fact that I *MAYBE* might be SO CLOSE to being in the next batch or 2!!

I've noticed that if I try to call the specialists (who rarely answer) but leave a voicemail and specify my specialist name, I usually get an email response within an hour or two -- (thx for screening my calls ST lmao). You can maybe try that to get an answer.
