How do you know your truly attractive in NYC? (New York: low income, neighborhoods)

I've noticed you left out overweight. I guess you agree with that one? Below average face meaning not appealing in any way. Worse off than a plain Jane.
Overweight can be objectively defined. Facial beauty, on the other hand, is more subjective.

Nope. I agree that it's unattractive to the average person, but there are people who find larger bodies attractive.
My point is that attractiveness is inherently subjective. Asking people on a forum how a person can know that he or she is attractive is pointless, because people have different standards of beauty.
Since the OP is generalizing I will too..., here goes I'm assuming you mean attactive like model attactive or close to it since overweight means ugly(your perspective not mine). What I have noticed is that guys that are hitting on women through out the day probably shouldn't be hitting on anyone and they tend to hit on anything anyways. Not saying that good looking man or above average(im just guessing as long as they dont look scrubby or something) don't approach women I definetely see it less from them. So either you have just noticed those instances and also you see it more in NYC because people are walking out in about than in LA were most people drive.

The men that make comments to women in the street love big asses and overt sex appeal so you can be unattractive but if you have a big ass or are dressed provocatively you will get hit up. Its sort of this machismo thing and its sort of a means of putting women down.
But you can be the same person and get cat calls or not depending on your sex appeal and confidence level. After I had my daughter I was looking flabby and less than my usual shapely self lol and sure enough the cat calls stopped. Now I look better and have my old confidence back and the cat calls were back as well, despite my advancing age of 45 lmao. So it is something of a measure of your sex appeal and apparently, I still got it as 15 year olds are still cat calling. haha not very flattered but it is what it is..... I grew up on this and know what I'm talking about.
All a woman needs in this city is *1 good looking toe and she will have 100 guys lined up to ask her out.
Too many desperate men in this city and the worst part about it is THEY HAVE MONEY ! If you look too good women will think you are gay.
So many walls so many barriers. You are much better off taking trips out of the city and out of the country to go girl hunting. If you have enough disposable income and are too lazy to travel then you can settle for a "stump". If you are younger try getting into the brooklyn hipster druggie scene and eventually you will get lucky.

Not true. In LA, I've seen attractive women get approached frequently and unattractive women not so much. Also, I'm not talking about street approaches only. I see this happening at bars/lounges as well. It's like most of the guys gravitate towards the overweight chicks. Most of the pretty women get stared at unless she's drunk or the guys drunk enough to approach.

Thank you for clarifying the street cat callers but what about men in other places? Like in a bar, club and lounge establishments? Apparently, these places are meat markets for the shallow type. So why is it guys who frequent these places, still approach overweight/unattractive women? Like I said before, In LA this does not happen nor in any other place I've visited. I guess I wouldn't be as confused, if I saw this behavior in the south.
