Hi, Just wondering did anyone knows how many years the tenant will under rent stabilization rule in this affordable building? I do some research online, looks some mentioned 15 years or 20 years, even the building has 35 years Tax exempt under 421a affordable program.

hey everyone,

So I received this email " Letter of Ineligibility" for the 2nd phase. Anyone familiar with it? Should I appeal? Seems like my pass to get one of these apartments right?

Has anyone ever applied for affordable housing and gotten chosen without having a bank account or filing taxes I basically have lived with my mother and my daughter my whole life she takes care of our bank account it’s in her name and she claims us on her taxes but we got selected for an apartment do you think that my chances are lowered without having a bank account or taxes

Hi all, I received a letter from them saying they reached my log number (#11XXX) but we don’t meet the current guidelines for the remaining available units. They now only have units for 1-2 people. They said that we can write them back and prove them we qualify for the available units if we want to.

When we applied for this project few years ago, we wanted a unit for 4 people (my wife, my two daughters, and I) now one of my daughters no longer live in nyc, and my other daughter always sleeps over at her boyfriends. I want to apply for the 2 people unit with my wife, but my wife doesn’t work, and my income doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, tho my daughter financially supports my wife, does this count as my wife’s income?

thanks in advance

You have a very complicated situation. The chances are low that anyone reading this has been in the exact same situation for the exact same building.

If I had to guess, I would say that your plan won't work. First off, you can't change the family composition that's on your application except for marriage, birth, divorce, death, legal separation, etc.

The reason "my daughter sleeps at her boyfriend's apartment" is not official enough.

Another question is your wife's income. How does your daughter give her the money? If it's cash, that's a problem.

You are still gonna be DENIED

You’re trying to argue that you want a unit for 1-2 ppl (which is a one bedroom) when there’s 3 in the equation. Doesn’t matter if your daughter always sleeps with her bf or not they still count that
