We will have to wait for the publication of the toxicology and autopsy report to have a full picture of what physically happened here.
Only idiots need to be told by officials the effect of someone being STRANGLED to death, especially when recorded on video.
Only surprise here is it wasn't a cop who was the murder but rather, a crazy ex-marine, are there any OTHER kind?

They’re not winning that. Neely threatened to kill
people, multiple times, in that train car. Just like the criminal case, the only jury that would award them anything is all black or all woke one.

They’re not looking for a trial either. They want a settlement for some easy money.

oh they will win that civil suit , watch for it.

threats mean nothing …there was no attempt to do so. i don’t believe he assaulted anyone and put their life in danger on that train.

verbal threats are just that .. babbling

I’d wager on it. If you’re so sure, give me some odds? 10 to 1 should be easy?
They want an easy settlement. They don’t want a trial because no sane jury, looking at Neely’s record, and taking the events into account along with testimony from others on that train car, would award anything but a symbolic amount to Neelys family. If Penny has to pay, what about the others who helped him hold Neely down? To what extent are they culpable? The entire thing won’t make sense.

On the other hand, the publicity will do wonders for the lawyer(a) that convinced Neely’s family to file a suit.

look how goetz who was a lot more justified to use deadly force lost that civil case….and he was found not guilty of manslaughter too .

his downfall was weapons possession

Another reason not to plead to anything but push for full acquittal. Any guilty plea can be used against him in a civil suit.

This city is sinking both literally and figuratively.

Sadly, it isn’t just this city. In fact, there are plenty of other places that have gone downhill fast. Not surprisingly, they all have certain common elements.
