I am SO jealous of y'all up there!!!

It's 59 degrees out so I thought to myself..."self, what a nice idea it'd be to build a fire in the firepit!! I've got a nice bottle of wine, soft music....aaahhh!!"

Ends up I got the cork stuck in the bottle of wine & had to dig it out with a knife 'cause it kept shredding & ended up with all this "cork-dust" infused in the wine, went to put on the music after filtering the wine through a coffee filter & the outside speakers are on the fritz, & then the fire started nice for about 2 minutes & then just smouldered so bad I had to put the ceiling fans on & hook up a portable fan to blow all the smoke away from the porch!!

I smell like a charcoal house. Bill smells like a charcoal house. The dog smells like a charcoal house. The pool area smells like a charcoal house. The whole damm island is probably in a haze!!!

I'm so jealous of those roaring, crackling fires y'all get up there!! I guess it's just so humid here that even the "seasoned" firewood's waterlogged!!

Think I'll just drink!!

Oh MY!!!! I got a pie recipe!!
Sound very simple if anyone wants it!

Egg Nog Custard pie....a simple custard in a frozen pie shell....instead of milk, there is egg nog and nutmeg and a little rum...real easy!
I haven't tried it yet but it sounds yummy!!!!!

A little rum added to the home made whip cream for the top......

I love the flavored coffee creamers that are out this time of year. Having a hard time finding the Land O Lakes Peppermint Mocha one. Last year only Wegmans had it and I stocked up and froze them. This year, no where! So please keep all eyes out for it. Really gives me a good jump start to the holidays!

I'm in a baking mood today, making some pizzelles. Anyone else make them?
