This should result in more accurate reporting. For example, no longer will prior COVID deaths be included in a current day's total, as occurred a few days ago when the OC health site
inaccurately implied that 26 people had died on a single day . In reality, that number included previously unreported data on deaths, late information from previous weeks, that facilities were only just submitting.

Great; good to know. I thought that day with 26 deaths was highly suspicious, especially since I recall there were few or no deaths reported the day before and only 7 the day after. That reporting system needed to be improved. I hope the new site still has the breakdowns by age and race, though.

I think they had a back log, same with LA county.

The new OC Health Agency COVID case count site is more comprehensive than the last one. For example, not only can you find the number of cases per city, you can also find a city's COVID deaths.
Also, the case count is supposed to apply to the date of report, and not to old deaths from previous weeks that facilities just got around to reporting.
