mine has been cutting his own hair and the kids for quite a while. They go in for a professional cut every so often, but he's saved us some $$ for sure.

I'm afraid idiots will fall for tea party propaganda and not realize who is truly responsible for what happened.

I do too! I love rain in general! Thankfully we're getting a break with the heat this week. Today at 5pm was the peak. It will be in the low 70s all week!

lol! Mine had long hair for the longest time. Then I told him the pony tail was creating the bald spot on the top of his head! I now cut his hair using the clippers.

All the politics stuff make me sick to my stomach. I think about what are kids are inheriting.....what a mess.

Hopes - I thought of your tonight! Got more basil in our farm share today! I'm not a huge pesto person, so have to figure out something else. We did get corn too - so I made some more basil butter. Also made a coleslaw using the cabbage and carrots from the farm. Grilled chicken with bbq sauce. Pretty good dinner.

We also got peaches in our farm share so I'll do cobbler tomorrow. Have the easiest ever recipe that takes nothing to throw together and is so good.

I was thinking we wouldn't do the CSA next year with the farm, but the more I think about it, the more we might do it again. Yes, there are some things I don't like - but we have been saving money and eating better. The beets and kale - I can't come up with any good ideas. We got chard again today and I'm not a fan. But DS likes it. So I'll keep trying.

It really is the easiest recipe ever. I've whipped one out two nights in a row. Come over any time

How is school going - getting into the grove of the routine?

School doesn't start until next Friday for our son.

yes, a little more routine each day. Not much homework yet, which is nice. I should try to a cobbler. Do you have to adjust for the altitude?

No thank goodness because that seems to be an issue for me. Here is the recipe:

Easy Fruit Cobbler Recipe - Allrecipes.com

There is also a great high altitude chocolate chip cookie recipe on there. I'll make a batch, cook one, freeze the rest of the dough, then bring it out and have hot cookies when we want.

I have yet to try a cake since moving here. And it's been 13 years.

We just had the discussion here about easing into school. DH thought it was stupid that DS's first day would be on a Friday. I don't think it's that big a deal. District wise they start on Thursday, but at DS's high school, only Freshmen go that first day. Which is a nice thing. So DS starts on Friday.

It just takes a couple weeks to get back into it.
