I don't know what channel it was on. According to the article the producer had to sell it to local stations. So I guess that would have been either 5, 15 or 45.

Wasn't World Beyond popular in the mid-60's? I think I remember it...seems like there were a number of cheesy si-fi shows that were popular and out at the same time.

That is correct...Mostly all "B" movies. I remember it starting with an introduction by one of the KPHO tv 5 news personalities voice, and a song by Santana playing in the background (Black Magic Woman).

Great article/webpage... I wonder where the "natatorium" was at that time? In the photo of the horse drawn streetcar you can make out "natatorium" as advertisement on the side of the car. I tried googling but no luck. Anyone know where this might have been in the early days?

Encanto Carousel
Over the years, the Encanto Carousel has been the focal point of countless birthdays, reunions, and first dates—as well as the backdrop for many weddings.
The oldest continuously-operating carousel in Arizona has charmed riders for over 50 years, beginning in 1948 when the historic machine was the centerpiece of Kiddieland Amusement Park.
After Kiddieland closed in the late 1980s, a group of volunteers raised money to buy the carousel and completely refurbish it. It was re-dedicated in 1991 at the grand opening of Enchanted Island Amusement Park.
The Valley celebrated the carousel's 50th birthday in 1998, when it was donated to the City of Phoenix as a permanent fixture at Encanto Park.

I found this article interesting as I thought Kiddieland had closed but I didn't understand the details.

Yes, I was the first to get in the place before the sale started. There was also an old pool table, highly carved down in the bedroom. The widow had a very large stamp collection her husband formed; one night thieves walked in and stole it; I think it may have affected her mind after that. She only wore black dresses; there must have been hundreds of them in the upper floors.

Here is a postcard of Scorpion Gulch, not as impressive as the mystery castle but interesting.
