Yunno, I am starting to really believe what Ravi Batra wrote in his book The New Golden Age: The Coming Revolution against Political Corruption and Economic Chaos...
He predicts a total meltdown followed by a re-grouping and betterment of society. Maybe all of this is just inevitable and there is no way to avoid what is coming.
I think we need to scrap what we've had, what we've become, and become something new.
You made me think about the cycles man goes through, throughout history.
There are always countries and collusions involved with countries trying to control the world throughout history.
There are always wars, dictators, famines, political turmoil, countries rising and falling...
Corruption builds up to a point where the country can no longer stand and it falls apart, either into the dustbin of history, or with new beginnings, until it to reaches another cycle yet again.
Right..so would you kick them out if they just wanted to take without any give back ?
It's not done today with our social entitlement programs.
Emotions run high when a program doesn't work and doesn't produce what the social engineers envisioned.
Many people are NOT inclined to earn what they get for free.
You better believe if I had the say I would have kicked them out. I always thought these women should have had to look for work a minimum of two or three hours a day.
I volunteer teaching homeless youth as well as the food bank, and each morning the youths are required to hit the pavement as part of being able to stay at the shelter.
I volunteer at a food bank. Thankfully, I am the one on the side of the desk doing intakes and NOT needing the food. There but for the grace of God go I....
Ever notice the amount of people standing outside smoking??

Okay!!!
Now you are stating that while we should do something to help people,if they don't work for their bed they are to be thrown out on the street????
Thanks for the link, but that is rather depressing. I guess since we're headed the same route (if we're not already there), I should think government could do a better job of constructing something (plus put people to work) at least until maybe someday things turn around.
Ontario CA saw the growing and organized camp in the state park several years ago and instead of kicking them out they allowed it with rules. Its for only those who had lived in the city. They provide services like water and electric. People provide their own campers/tents or the like. It has drawn criticism by those who think it looks "untidy" and has expanded past its origional boundaries, but it does provide something. In areas like where I live now it would be far too cold in winter to use a tent but in warmer areas I suspect the local government are either looking the other way or actively involved.
This is not a good solution but if you need a place you know you can go to to sleep and be safe it is better than a lot of others.
I understand dependency and comfort zones made people less likely to move on as times got better. Which can be a trap they get themselves caught up in.
Not sure what the solution is, but it should be a solution that benefits America as a whole, short term relief and long term benefits for the country.
I'm almost tempted to say a funded community farm where they put in a days work for food and boarding and also take education classes for different skills at night, where they would have a better paying job to look forward to.
But, since they would be funded, the people running it would have a vested interest in keeping the gravy train going, like for profit prisions.
Dishonesty and Corruption is rampant.
It also almost sounds like Fema Camps, which I don't advocate either.
A think a lot of the problems we face today is our loss of morals.
I'm not part of any religion, but I can see how the conditioning could help society if people believed someone was watching over them, to be honest with one another in all affairs and to help one another.
Instead we live in a society where its profits and materialism at all costs over anything else.
We once had poor farms in this country.....very scary thought. HISTORY

The Fourth Turning is an excellent read on history as repeating cycles that happen every 80 years or so.
The last turning was the Great Depression. Do the math....
Okay!!!

Yes, I am. You would not believe the tough stuff I've had to do. I would have zero problem exiting someone out the door who was not willing to look for work or do some sort of community service.
What I DID have a problem with was putting moms and kids out on the street which, yes, I had to do. It wasn't my choice. I ended up quitting as I just couldn't live with putting babies out on the street for stupid reasons.
