Can you reply without getting emotional and yelling?

There are plenty jobs available right now that people just won't take, without a job you certainly can't afford even basic health coverage so why not take a job and become productive instead of sitting around waiting for the perfect position with perfect benefits to come along?

The UK does it through "National Insurance" which is separate to tax and a bit similar to how we pay for Social Security.

So why do people slam UHC in England if they have the options to purchase private insurance??????

Imagine if you didn't have to pay more, but less! Everyone is covered. That means, the healthier people are, the more productive to society they are, therefore saving you MORE money on your taxes, you would have to pay for on uninsured peoples emergency care visits that they otherwise couldn't pay for anyway.

Why do you think I support the Tea Party? We are taxed more than enough already to provide basic services to the entire country. We are already overtaxed right now in order to pay for things the government should never provide. People like myself might be more willing to compromise on things like health care if we weren't forced to pay for things that can't be justified in any way other than a hand out. If the gov. were able to cut spending significantly in all areas (including defense) we could easily afford health coverage for those who aren't able to physically be productive or those who are in desperate situations, not those who choose to live off of the gov. because it's become the easy way.

You really don't get how it really is out there. People are taking any jobs they can find! Are you kidding? Many Americans are either unemployed, or underemployed and working 2-3 part time jobs, living paycheck to paycheck! Even people with degrees!!!!

medicare has never been truely affordable to the elderly since its not a 100% coverage singlepayer system like medicaid (it requires the eldery to pay into the system and to buy PRIVATE supplemenatal insurance

the problem is not costs of incusrance or cost pof medicare/medicaid....its the general costs of healthcare...and no government or private company can controll that,,,especially when you have the FED devaluing the dollar

look at last yaers budget...medicare cost the federal government over 500 billion....medicaid cost the federal government 300 billion...that's 800 billion FEDERAL dollars (your income/payroll/corporate tax dollars) just to cover 70 million people....our population is 320 million...
