As long as we don't let those annoying statistics get in the way of our opinions.

The sample in this thread (143 separate responses so far) is a very good sample size (one which is statistically significant). Without any actual evidence that more democrats answer such polls than republicans, your line of thinking is simply you (a liberal) looking (qualitatively) for a justification to explain away how this forum is biased in your favor.

Which statistics? Just give me the link to the statistics saying that on this forum there are more liberals than conservatives... At least from this thread one just can't conclude that.

The center on this forum is so far to the right, that many who consider themselves "left" are really middle or right. I've heard people on here claim that Hitler was liberal.

Not to mention how the Democrats are viewed, who many consider radical Marxists.

I agree. This forum is heavily right leaning.

There are 307 regular posters in the politics forum, 143 of which responded to this poll. Calculating a 95% confidence interval on that population, we can say with a 6% margin of error that a sample of 143 respondents is statistically relevant. This poll has only a 6% chance of being outside of a 95% confidence range.

Isn't it annoying when mathematics and facts gets in the way of your opinion?

One step closer to being the Western Iran. I can't wait!

It's possible. I see several frequent conservatives who have not voted yet.

Totalitarianism, whether "left" or "right", is still totalitarianism. There is little freedom so it doesn't matter whether the government reached that point from the left or the right.

This thread is great proof and more proof that facts don't matter to liberals.

Where does it say there are 307 regular posters? And that 143 of them responded in this poll?
Either way, nothing gets in my way of thinking that this forum is very conservative. Maybe one can only realize that when one is from outside the US. To me for instance Obama is a bit to the right from the center, while some Americans call him a commie From my perspective the question with any given American is whether he is a modest conservative (you would say progressive, liberal, socialist etc.) or a hard-core conservative (Republican, Tea Party etc.). I have yet to meet a real American progressive or socialist or whatever... During those few years on this board I haven't.
