Uhmmm todays generation requires cell phones, they require video games and better by me car lees than 3 years old or else I'll pout. I have never experienced a more entitlment minded group than todays youth.
Whe I retire I will have right at 1 million in my acct. Yes I intend to indulge myself. I worked hard for it. I saved for it. I sacrificed for it. If none or very little is left then I am okay with that. I have provided a stable home and good enviroment for my children. They were taught work ethic. They were taught honor. I will leave my belongings to my children and they can divide what they see fit. But the idea that I should skrimp and save in retirement just so my kids can have it? Yeah right. The fed will hammer them in taxes. I paid my share of taxes throughout my life, let death free me from that burden.
Really - we are broke as a nation because of cell phones
and video games....
The FED hammered you with taxes... Do you think your the only one who pays taxes ...
No one of ANY AGE will take away from you, being a good & loving parent, that's a given.
BUT, the youth today, is probably the MOST
AWESOME group you will EVER FIND
To deny them, that they will be paying taxes for your generation, is not only selfish...
It's a shame.
The WWII amassed 80 billion dollars in net worth and passed that wealth on to the boomers. It was the biggest transfer of wealth in history. Of course, many let it go to their heads and lost a good part of it buying McMansions and living above their means on credit.
I got nada from my mom's estate. She was poor all of her life.
Pretty broad and inaccurate brush you're painting with.

The youth of today, that are dumping their children onto their parents to raise in record numbers? That think that if they just "try", it's as good as "succeeding"? Who's parents have helicoptered them into delayed maturity? Rah, rah, blah, blah.
In your utopia, paying taxes for my generation should be no problem, because their parents MUST leave them all their money.
I maintain the baby boomer generation is the worst ever in American history. I guess it was inevitable since their parents were probably the best this country has ever seen.
The baby boomers are generally self-absorbed and self indulgent so I'm not surprised that they would maintain this behavior from beyond the grave as well.
LOL! Not according to the generation that came before. I can still remember my Grandfather (born in 1893/fought in WWI) complaining that his offspring (WWII generation) had it too easy and were soft and spoiled. The distain for later generations by earlier ones has been going on since time began.
i was always very good at algebra, fairly good with discrete math, but not so much with trig or anything higher. i managed my way through calculus.
why, is the Medicare math too complicated for you to understand? You certainly haven't demonstrated that you know how it works, instead you've been hiding behind little personal attacks like this one.
i think it's funny we had this big Republican debate last night where they talk about social security, but they are all too scared to talk about Medicare costs.
Well, I still pay taxes to fund public education for your generation, so I guess we're even.
*chuckle* I'd sure like to meet you in another 30 years ...
That would be my son's generation "chuckle" and I
home schooled. See you in about 20 years...nah - you'll be in a nursing home sipping soup or you'll be climbing
MT EVEREST on my dime
I've been paying school taxes for 30 years, darlin'. And will probably be paying for a dozen or so years more, Lord willing.
And now I'm wondering if I've gotten my money's worth.
hah. it's crazy to me how delusional you are, and most of your generation, that you think paying X amount of taxes entitles you to 3 times that amount of future government spending on your behalf.
and then when y'all get called on it, nearly all y'all hide from the question, and the remaining people are so innumerate that they wouldn't even know how to figure out the annual medicare budget if they tried.
it's the same old stupid argument, "I paid my taxes for 30 years, blah blah blah"
