They are mainly conservative, because liberals seek to grow government, not contain it.
They scare me because they are Fascists in "wolf's clothing" with a following of sheep........just like before Hitler came to power in Germany.

you are spewing nonsense, they don't even have a leader, it's an ideology reclaiming our freedoms from an oppressive gov't. They simply have love of country in common. Perhaps that's why you declare them your enemy. We've had enough of this thing you call 'hope n change', social justice, unequal rights, radical environmentalism and rampant corruption on both sides. Tea Party is here to stay until we reverse this trend.

That said IMO......the Republicans are becoming the Tea Party. Look at the candidates....all Tea Partiers except....only in some ways.....Romney.

I don't think the Republicans grabbed anything....IMO...the tea Party is the very far right wing base of the party and now has become the Republican Party as evidenced by the candidates.

If anything the Tea Party has subverted the Republican Party....they now seem one in the same.

Blah, blah, blah...

Tea Partiers Are Fairly Mainstream in Their Demographics

Ya know, I can see why liberals and even staunch republicans would be terrified of the tea party. They want the country to abide by the constitution and call for smaller government. What terror that must strike in a wasteful and abusive system of government. Get a grip. These people are americans, no different from you and I. They want what they believe is in the best interest of the country. When did we come to a point that we are willing to throw a substantial portion of our fellow americans under the bus, meerly because they don't believe what we believe. It's a sad day in our nation when we fear open dialog. When opposing views are to be crushed because of their origin. What have we become? The founding fathers of this great nation would tremble at all of this.

Whatever group you are referring to has long been hijacked and replaced with right wing radicals and Neocons that are being bribed by corporate entities. The Tea Party that you speak of is not being represented in government.

Did that Hoveround run over your toe to? As far as high jacking the Tea Party - the Tea Party just doesn’t want higher taxes. They just like the idea of pay as you go - balance your budget. Will the Tea Party use the Republican Party to get their way - you bet they will and they would use the Democratic Party if they could learn how to balance their checkbook.

We have an awful lot of people receiving either wages, supplements or some other form of monetary support form our government. When we start talking about cutbacks there will always be losers. Everybody enjoys a free meal and nobody wants the gravy train to stop. I have to presume that the ones that holler the loudest (against cutbacks) are in that group.

The Tea Party representatives have been in the pockets of the lobbyists from day one. Under the guise of "balancing he budget" the agenda is to privatize everything from healthcare to Social Security and further enrcih Wall Street and Corporate America who is running the show and pulling the strings. This was not what The Founders had in mind.

Yeah, yeah, that is nice and dandy but you (tea partiers) can't even get the the tea baggers out of your party! If you really wanted to be taken seriously, you need to clean house! Get rid of the nut cases within your movement. If you don't, the rest of the rational thinking country will see it for what it truely is, a radical wing of the corporate republican party

But the ones that get heard the most are the ones controlling the media and have the most money. That does not sound like a legit grassroots organization to me. If the tea party is what is says that it is, why are'nt they attacking the wasteful republicans as well? Are saying that they do not exist?
