For the first time in fifteen years, I will not be involved in anything to do with Susan B Komen foundation, unless the organization gets out of politics.
Which will never happen. they are part of the Cancer racket for gain.
I don't think providing health services for those that can't afford it can be categorized as left wing or right wing (and you wouldn't believe how many repubs I know who used PP for one of their various services)

Thank goodness for SGK.
Yes, thanks for an ogrniazation who has morphed into an entity that is no longer a reflection of the reason why it was formed in the first place.
I think you misunderstood. They will give you a referral for a mammogram if you meet the criteria (age, family history, etc) and they do breast exams and paps, both of which screen for cancer.
no, they told the ex and I up front that they do not provide mammograms or screening for breast cancer. they did admit to us that they do provide paps.

I'm not so much into conspiracy theories as their purpose. And clearly, neither my time nor money and effort is worth it while the organization chooses to play in politics.

I respect your opinion to your above statements, but I disagree with you. One cannot take away from SGK all the good they have done regarding cancer. Period. If some feel they have become too big, then stop donating to them. I am sure for every displeased person there is a pleased person.
I do not believe they were apologizing In the way you would assume. I am concerned they have been forced to make a decision they do not agree with by reestablishg the funding to PPH.
I have nothing against PPH. However, I do have a huge problem with SGK being demonized for a decision they made regarding PPH. And yes, typically that behavior comes from the left....especially since PPH is more of a left/liberal supported organization.

As a 2 time Cancer Survivor, they do disappoint. There are several Orgs that do manage to help with the issue without getting political or too full of themselves.
Yeah, LOL. It's way off topic for this thread, but yeah, if we get to "choose" where our taxdollars go (rightwingers certainly think they do with things like PBS and PP! Our taxdollars aren't doing there!!!), I would rather direct mine to PBS and PP than to the extremely wasteful military.

Komen was losing employees, volunteers, sponsors and donors. They are a non-profit organization, those are EXACTLY the people they should be listening to. I am a big beliver in the process, and this is how the process works.
People spoke with their wallets and their time. They wanted those cancer screenings to continue to be funded. And now they will.
Disagreement is part of a healthy democracy. Strong disagreement NORMAL. People execrising that right are not bullying anyone, despite people on both sides trying to demonize each other for disagreeing.
