Making money has always been the function of government - the United States Constitution was supposed to change that - and set boundaries for a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" whose purpose is to secure the unalienable rights endowed to us by our Creator.

Instead of being vigilant and defending the Constitution - the American people have allowed our government to devolve into a near feudal state.

I am henceforth sending a report to your liege Lord and telling him of your heinous words.
Really, you sound like a bad novel set in the Dark Ages.

Do you have problems with Thomas Jefferson's words in the Declaration of Independence or Abraham Lincoln's words in the Gettysburg Address?

It is not the job of the federal government to regulate drivers actions - this is a power delegated to the states. Read the Bill of Rights - 10th Amendment.

I agree. I also don't think a law will make a bit of difference.

If States are too stupid to STOP this insanity, somebody MUST intervene.

As of now, being a driver, etc. on roads and highways is being subjected to BARBARIC Negligence!!

Not at all, Jefferson is one of my heroes, especially with the wonderful work he did in his groundbreaking garden at Monticello, along with all the other wonderful things he brought back to the States after his ambassadorship in France, I have always thought he was a genius of the first order.
But, you know what?
I do believe Jefferson would be of the opinion that one should just S**U and drive.
