Hmmm, first I heard. Can you point me to the complete text of the Republican Health Care Bill? The only one I actually know of is the Mass. Health Care Bill passed by Romney.

If you if want to count it as a victory that is fine but this is a huge tax increase if not the largest.

One key here is that Obama said it was not going to be a tax increase to the middle class and the supreme court called him a liar.

Seriously, this is a non-argument since those without insurance end up in ERs and everyone else pays for it anyway through insurance. In any case, other countries have proven that the overall cost drops when all are covered.

It's also not Socialism any more than the federal government's regulation of health care since 1790 is Socialism. Government mandates all kinds of things for employer provided health care and that's not Socialism. The very idea that private companies providing private insurance coverage for individuals is Socialism is preposterous on its face.
Now they will go weekly to see the doctor for a boo boo or runny nose. Get in line and pay those taxes on higher costs for homeowners tax , and whatever they can get out of the paying class through taxes.. and the buying power just went down for all who will have higher insurance premiums to cover the 17 million more that will get it free.

The illegals will trample us coming in.

I was amazed to see people cheering on the steps of the Supreme Court that the biggest tax increase in U.S. history was just imposed by a court. That congress can now pass any 'mandate' with a 'tax' penalty.
It's a sad day for freedom and liberty.

technically it is still a mandate. Everyone has to participate and that is a mandate. I am not fooled by all that jargon about it being a tax. Foolish talk.

Sorry, but this is not a partisan issue. The status quo ante was unacceptable. That a nation like the US should have so many of its people denied adequate medical care was absurd.

Here's the scary future: doctors will earn less. Insurance companies will be subject to the same common-sense rules as other businesses. And every American will have access to a humane level of medical coverage.

Sorry, but I don't see that as a tragedy. I see it as rich insurance companies being "punished" for their greed and heartlessness by a guaranteed volume of business many times larger than at present. Ironic, but better than the alternative; i.e., zilch.

Sometimes the best response to a problem is to do nothing. This was not one of those times.

Why couldn't we just repeal the ability to go to the ER for everything? Back in the day, that meant you had to go to a charity hospital, pay cash, or have insurance. Personally, I think we should all pay cash except for a catastrophic plan. That would lower costs.

Parties are an illusion. There is simply the lords and the peasants. The sooner we begin to understand this, the sooner we can repair our out of control government. If we can't understand this, then... we deserve to be ruled as peasants.

If you read the link, you'll find that that 1.5% INCLUDES malpractice insurance premiums.
