Only in a Closed Shop state. Right to work states like Virginia means that I don't have to join the union.

I think a closed shop is just plain sad. It's like commanding someone to pay someone else for the pleasure of working there and earning a living for their family. If it was people, and not a Union demanding that you join up and pay, it would be considered extortion.

Technically that's what a Union is, legalized extortion.

And yes I agree. I can't believe that a 16% raise is not good enough. 16% in these time isn't good enough. I had to read that twice as I thought it was a typo.
