Cut entitlements. As long as there is a free buffet, there will always be people who get in line for it. What should be cut?
1. social security age raised to age 72
2. medicare eligibility raised to age 70
3. EVERYONE on social security disability should be re-evaluated and stiffer requirements made
4. Make total social security payouts per year fixed, such that voter outrage will occur from increases in social security disability.
5. Restrict unemployment benefits to one year
6. Require public service work hours in exchange for foodstamps/welfare payments
7. end subsidized government housing projects
8. Restrict the aid to dependent children program to two children
9. Limit the amount of income that a single family on welfare disability can receive to 10% above the poverty line.
10. Eliminate "drug dependency" as an allowed criteria for disability
11. Limit the kinds of foods foodstamps can purchase (kind of like generic drugs). No products that are in the top 50% in cost per unit value relative to other items.
............... Just a start- there are too many bums in America and the democrats want to create more, such that they will have thier vote for life. Give a man a fish or teach him to fish?
These are amazingly, stunningly simple-minded suggestions to solve very complex problems. They seem to reflect a hatred for the poor rather than any serious thought regarding the issue.

Okay. Let's go with that. We stop any and all hand-outs. If you cannot afford food, you are out of luck.
Now tell me, how do you think this is going to translate into real life?
Some people, apparently, are unable to find any work, no matter how hard they try - they are physically ill, mentally ill, handicapped, too old, etc.
Will those who cannot afford food simply sit on the side of the road and wait until they are dead? Or do you think that they will, perhaps, find a way to get food?
I think you might quickly find your home burglarized, your car stolen, and yourself with a gun stuck to the back of your head while all you wanted to do was eat a quick burger. As a matter of fact, you might find that your life will get a whole lot more difficult because you will be forced to avoid roaming bands of people who are about to starve, who have nothing to lose, and who will do literally anything in order to get some money/food. It is going to work wonders on your home value, your sense of security, and your quality of life, too.
I know, though: You will simply bring your gun and shoot anyone who looks at you in a challenging way. Yeah, that will make America a great place to live for all of us. Next, you will build a wall around your community, put guard towers everywhere, kick the undesirables out, and close the gates when danger arrives. Congratulations, you have just transported the US to medieval times.
You see, that's the problem: These lowlife pests won't simply sit still and await death.
I can never understand why people don't get this ^^^^. I think that greed is a mental illness that has spread far and wide, and in fact, is nurtured by our culture. People are so hateful and so worried about not only what they have, but, god forbid someone else may "scam" them. If only all the poor in this country were just pretending and scamming and that there were really enough jobs for everyone.
It's amazing to me that so many people, especially the liberals, don't see any problem at all with out-of-control government spending and think that $16 trillion debt means nothing at all, there can never be any consequences of massive debt.
They really believe that a handful of wealthy can pay for everything and that rest -- the non-billionaires can live off the government -- no number living off the government could ever be too many.
They don't worry about any limitations of government spending or number of welfare recipients because they really believe nothing bad could ever happen. Their faith in government and in the government's ability to provide all for them is boundless.
If you could get over your hatred of liberals, especially those "poor" liberals who need the safety net programs, you would have much clearer vision, or maybe you would be able to "see" for the first time that these are enormously complex issues, and that berating the poor and the food stamp recipients is not the solution. The big problem here is the blindness caused by hatred for an entire group of people you call "liberals."
Amongst all those lazy bums who graduated from four-year colleges in 2010, only 56 % had held at least one job within the next year.
Amongst all recent college graduates who have found employment 30 % are in jobs that do not require a degree, further supplanting less skilled workers.
My brother is being laid off for the third time in three years and may very well collect unemployment insurance. He has a CPA, an MBA, and a masters in taxation law. lazy freeloader.

uh, no. I first heard Schiff about 10 years ago. He's been in the news off-and-on since then. I'm well-acquainted with his positions. He's an Austrian ideologue.
