However, we still probably have decades to go before legalization could pass the ballot box due to so many uninformed voters simply voting the way the establishment tells them. Arkansas in this last election is case-in-point.

I also wonder if the alcohol lobby has anything to do with it. I know if marijuana were legal, I would happily trade my two beers to wind down after work for a bowl.
Well at least on this forum it seems most of the ones against legalization are Republicans or conservatives, not all, but most.

I think the only issue that needs to be addressed is some sort of sobriety test for driving that can be upheld in court. I've read some are trying to come up with something along those lines. Once that hurdle is crossed there is no reasonable objection. Other than the usual nonsense folks regurgitate. If weed were so bad there would be thousands of death certificates with that listed as cause of death. There aren't.

The one who really matters is Obama, a democrat, who is against it.

Amen! I'd stop drinking beer if my state legalized it.

States can pass laws and that is where something like this should be. However the feds like to stick their fat fingers into everything and since Obama is the president and the senate, who is controlled by democrats who will do what their president tells them to, the entire premise of this post is absolute BS. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Colorado legalized it, how has Obama meddled in that??

Congress also consists of the House, which is majority Republicans. Democrats in the Senate have a very slim majority, besides, I haven't heard of any anti legalization efforts by the Senate Dems, so your assumptions are not based on reality

It doesn't really matter though if the federal government legalized it if you live in a state where it's still illegal. I can guarantee that many states would keep their laws on the books even if the Feds legalized it.

Your friends must not confide in you. I know people from all walks of life that partake. Ask anyone who works in the homes of others. You will see their porn stash, weed and paraphernalia, everything and the occupation of these people would surprise you. I guess these people think that workers in their homes are blind.
