Because Obama would rather fire workers than cut foreign aid and other wasteful spending. After all, if 8% unemployment doesn't bother him, a little more wont either.

" the hardship it is going to put on everyday Americans."

What hardship is that?

Do you realize they are going to have a BIGGER budget THIS year then they did last year?

There are NO real cuts. It is a REDUCTION in the INCREASE.

Look at it like this.

When you were a kid and had $1.00 allowance. You ask for a $.25 increase. Your parents give you a $.10 increase. Do you tell your friend you got a $.15 cut?

This is what is happening.

first of all you are wrong.
second you are way wrong.

The intent of republicans to point out that the sequester was invented by the whitehouse is a RESPONSE to the whitehouse claiming this was a republican idea.

Further even Bob Woodward has stated that Obama has "moved the goal posts" with is new demands for additional tax revenue as part of the plan.

Republicans are RESPONDING to the lies by Barak Obama. They are not attacking.

you need to get the right set of facts before you start blathering.

Again. this is a 2% cut to the budget. Since when has a 2% cut ever been the kind of hardship Mr. Obama is making this out to be?

get real

From reading through the thread, it seems there's two plausible - or understood to be - results of the sequester.

For the leftist the problem with the sequester is going to be everything in Obama's talking points.

For the right, a couple of days off from work.

For Libertarians... it's about time.

Duh. Welfare comes from the NON dicretionaty budget. The sequester ONLY affects the DISCRETIONARY budget.

How does that make you feel?

"For the right, a couple of days off from work." I disagree with your premise.

P.S. Fed workers will get back pay as they have in the past.

LOL! So now the President bullied those poor, defenseless little House reps into voting for it against their will? Really?

As for the "veto" threat, the president stated that there will be no easy off ramps from this sequester--that Congress needs to deal with deficit reduction and not continue to kick the can down the road. Isn't that what you Conservatives have been screeching about for four years now?
