Since this "cut" isn't really a cut at all, why is ANYONE losing their job? Except to prove a point, and for Obama to play politics.
.
Because Obama would rather fire workers than cut foreign aid and other wasteful spending. After all, if 8% unemployment doesn't bother him, a little more wont either.
Yes, because he recognizes the hardship it is going to put on everyday Americans. But aside from negotiating with himself, he doesn't have any other choice but to cave to the GOP or hold firm. I'm hoping he holds firm. Let the sequester go through, and let the Republicans feel the full force of the results.
" the hardship it is going to put on everyday Americans."
What hardship is that?
Do you realize they are going to have a BIGGER budget THIS year then they did last year?
There are NO real cuts. It is a REDUCTION in the INCREASE.
Look at it like this.
When you were a kid and had $1.00 allowance. You ask for a $.25 increase. Your parents give you a $.10 increase. Do you tell your friend you got a $.15 cut?
This is what is happening.

The cuts may not be smart, but they were voted into being by a majority of House Republicans, something that no one here from the right wants to admit. You blame the president on one hand for attempting to bargain, and on the other you absolve the GOP 100% of any responsibility for the sequester. Buffoonery is voting for a bill and then blaming the president for signing it.
first of all you are wrong.
second you are way wrong.
The intent of republicans to point out that the sequester was invented by the whitehouse is a RESPONSE to the whitehouse claiming this was a republican idea.
Further even Bob Woodward has stated that Obama has "moved the goal posts" with is new demands for additional tax revenue as part of the plan.
Republicans are RESPONDING to the lies by Barak Obama. They are not attacking.
you need to get the right set of facts before you start blathering.

Again. this is a 2% cut to the budget. Since when has a 2% cut ever been the kind of hardship Mr. Obama is making this out to be?
So he resorts to lies and extortion. If Government does not get higher taxes, we will fire teachers and firefighters and police and release felons and illegals. Why? Because there are no other inefficiencies in Government.
What ever happened to the Obama who was going to go thru the budget with a scalpel to eliminate duplication and waste? ROFTLMAO!!!
If those who support Obama are not angry, those people are beyond help
We are so screwed!!!!!!
What many don't understand he is talking about YOUR LOCAL teachers and firefighters and police.
and people lap it up.
I say let the sequestration take place and have the Krackers who post here have their government welfare payments the first to be cut. Then let's see how holier than thou they are.
Duh. Welfare comes from the NON dicretionaty budget. The sequester ONLY affects the DISCRETIONARY budget.
Actually, the president threatened to veto. So you're absolving Obama of all responsibility, for a bill that came from his camp, and which he bullied into being voted for?
LOL! So now the President bullied those poor, defenseless little House reps into voting for it against their will? Really?
As for the "veto" threat, the president stated that there will be no easy off ramps from this sequester--that Congress needs to deal with deficit reduction and not continue to kick the can down the road. Isn't that what you Conservatives have been screeching about for four years now?
