I also want to point out these things are aimed at CHILDREN, not adults. You probably won't see a dad and his 30 year old virgin daughter at one.

This is actually a very long standing cultural phenomenon well before purity balls...especially in devout christian and catholic upbringings. If you are only having anal sex....technically you can still get married a virgin. That's the logic at least.

What's with the word "creepy?" I've seen it several times in this thread. Is it meant to imply that the fathers who attend these events are sexually interested in their own daughters? Do people actually believe this or is it just intended as an insult to them?

emotions? some people have them, some don't. in my youth I was sexually involved with at least 2 guys who were hot and good in bed, but when they opened their mouths, the attraction would disappear. with my husband, I felt a totally different connection. he was like a best friend that I also had sex with. I know some people can't separate sex from feelings. if you are one of those people, it's best you realize that about yourself and don't participate in activities that make you feel bad. it's all part of growing up emotionally.
