Isnt it too early to bring up the "war on Christmas"? If there was a war Christmas won. Nobody has mentioned liberal yet.
Really. The first thing I thought when I saw this thread is "how far down it will I scroll until I see the usual blah blah blah liberal blah blah blah liberal".
How, when, why, and where has anyone made you feel like this? Please cite examples, so I know what you are dealing with in this oppressive anti-Christian nation.
I don't know if it's done in your city, but here in Atlanta, there are several Jewish congregations that ask their members who work in the health and medical fields to volunteer at local hospitals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Those fine folk spend a day off covering for goyische health industry workers so that they can spend the evening and day at home with their families. From my perspective, those Jewish volunteers have a heckuva lot more Christmas spirit than some of the people I've seen complaining on this thread.
I'm handicapped and not really physically able to do a lot volunteer-wise, but early every Christmas morning, my wife and I go out for breakfast and leave a FAT tip; usually $50 or more for a $20 meal. We've occasionally been chased down by the recipient on the way to our car; when that happens, the recipient generally thanks us profusely and marvels at what wonderful Christian generosity we're shown.
At which point we say 'thank you, you're welcome, but we're atheists.'
Little by little, we work to overcome the prejudices of others.
LOL, that is easily one of the most ridiculous statements ever posted on CD and that is saying something.
I guess the ubiquitous nature of Christmas decorations, Christmas songs on the radio and playing in retail stores, Christmas themed movies and TV shows, the fact that Christmas is a holiday recognized by the federal government complete with Christmas trees on display in most government buildings are all signs of the pervasive persecution that has systematically driven Christians and the celebration of Christmas into a completely underground event that only the brave few dare to acknowledge.
Seriously, where do people come up with this crap?
I know, right??? It's especially infuriating to us minority-religion folks, who actually did/do experience these things. My ancestors came here from Russia, in order to ESCAPE religious oppression - and now we have to listen to whiny majorities, complaining because the clerk at Walmart innocently wished them a Happy Holidays? First-world WASP problems...... lulz.

Indeed.
Many Jewish (and other non-Christian) folks around here volunteer on Christmas, either to do actual volunteer work or at our jobs for those who'd like the holiday off. I've done both myself, in fact my parents used to take us to Samaritan House (a local "soup kitchen") to serve meals every Christmas and Thanksgiving... reminded us how lucky we were to have a nice lifestyle, and also taught me that charity crosses all religious and cultural barriers if you allow it.
So we're supposed to believe that people that are offended at hearing "Happy Holidays" wouldn't be even MORE offended at hearing Happy Hannukah? Their minds would rage-explode at Happy Kwanzaa...

I find it extremely insulting to the families and survivors of true religious oppression. Many people have been tortured or killed just for being members of the wrong religion or defying an order to discontinue practicing their faith.
When whiny Christians that are living in the United States attempt to claim that they are being oppressed it makes me really angry. Like somehow a business choosing to use the phrase "Happy Holidays" is even in the same ballpark as being executed, sent to a concentration camp or any true form of religious persecution.
I say Merry Christmas. It's what I have always said and I will continue with it.
