It does roll off the tongue a little easier than, "Merry midwinter return of the sun celebration!"

I wish someone would start a war on the war on Christmas. These annual whinefests from butthurt Christians are getting really old.

I just thought how funny people care so much about Christmas...at the check out counter. They get so paturbed thet the poor minimum wage earning clerk didnt greet them in the correct manor durring their shopping orgy.

Now that puts the christ's sakes in christmas...

If I were a christian, I'd be more butthurt by chain stores leveraging the birth of my savior to sell holiday-themed dog beds, trash cans and novelty underwear than anything else. But that's just me.

Well, yeah, Christmas is a religious holiday, but these days many people that are from other religions celebrate Christmas as well more as a holiday since its a large tradition in this country.

I wonder do you feel pressured or obligated to say "Happy Holiday" instead of "Merry Christmas"?
Not being a religious person, if i do not know the person, I just offer the same seasons greetings to them, that they offered to me.

A few years ago, I received a very kind holiday greeting card from a christian friend who knows I'm an atheist.

The card featured a photograph of three gingerbread men, arranged side-by-side. One gingerbread man was decorated to look like an angel, with a halo and a cross drawn on with yellow frosting. Another gingerbread man was decorated in white and blue frosting; he appeared to be wearing a prayer shawl and had a Star of David on his chest. And the third gingerbread man was decorated in an African theme; I presume he was intended to represent Kwanzaa.

Inside, the greeting was Whatever you celebrate or observe this season, we hope it's sweet.

It doesn't take much effort to wish someone else a pleasant holiday. But those who are determined to be offended seem to go to great lengths to eff things up for everyone.

Nope. I say Merry Christmas, Happy Divali, Happy Eid, Happy Hanukkah...whatever the particular holiday.

I find that "Have a nice day" usually works.
