Sorry to have to inform you these were not Christians, I know blah, blah I knew someone would say this! Christians don't display hate by burning a Cross. Who in their right love of Jesus would display hate like this and claim they're Christian. Jesus was about authority, not culture or skin color. These people we're and are clearly misguided as many are, you and your family would not experience this from true children of Christ.

MEANING that all those other religious celebrations held during that time also fall under the same greeting.
Let me update the last question I asked you, when was the last time you heard someone say Happy Chanukah to some random stranger?

Why be offended by "Happy holidays"? Hell, even a Christian celebrates at least 2 holidays that month - Christmas and New Years. Two holidays. Happy HOLIDAYS.
First, I asked the direct question of has anyone ever told you that you shouldn't say Merry Christmas?
Second in the same post that you quoted I explained that I do say Merry Christmas.
Third, as has been pointed out several times when people say "Happy Holidays" it's usually a greeting given over a period wherein SEVERAL holidays are celebrated.
As to your point of saying "What's the difference with Christmas?" I'm curious, how would you feel if you were at a store and someone said "Happy Chanukah?"

Yes, as a matter of fact I have been told that someone was offended because I wished them a Merry Christmas and I had no knowledge that they weren't Christians. If they were looking for the generic term of "Happy Holidays" instead then they were barking up the wrong tree.
No, I would not be offended if someone wished me a Happy Chanukah without knowing that I am not Jewish. I would however not make a big deal out of it.

Not even a little bit true (saying that those people USUALLY do it for this reason). But even for those who this is true, why would you be offended by someone who is not of your same beliefs extending a wish of good tidings to you?

You're right. The midwinter holiday should not be called Christmas. Jesus followers can make up another holiday and let this return to its roots.
I say "Merry Christmas" all the time. I'm not even a believer. I call it what it is. Christmas traditions have many roots in pre-Christian pagan beliefs anyway.
I have no problem with "Happy Holidays" as there are many cultures (many of which are practiced by plenty of Americans) that have Wintertime and end of year celebrations, religious and otherwise, but I don't find "Merry Christmas" the least bit offensive.
Even not being a Christian, I recognize and enjoy the spirit behind Christmas: things like fellowship, giving, selflessness, etc.
