I don't; But I will not support or promote sin;yours or mine. I will let god deal with both. Government could change it tomorrow but I wouldn't see it any differently.

If you want all the "controversy" to disappear then get the govt out of marriage.

I find it comical, in a sad way, that the left is always saying "stay out of my bedroom" then they want the government to sanction marriages. What exactly do they think is gonna happen?
I find it funny that the left who is against religion fights so hard for gay marriage.

Me, I could care less about the issue.

I was always for it, at least from the time I could be aware of it as an issue.

Growing up, I had both a gay uncle and a gay cousin. My uncle and his partner have been together as long as my own parents have been married, and I assumed for most of my childhood that they were married as well. I know my parents had to inform me as a kid that gay people weren't allowed to get married, and I hated the unfairness of it then.

And so of course I grew up not-entirely-straight myself, and that cemented my opinion. I wanted to be able to marry the person I loved, whoever that ended up being.

Huh? Civil marriage - what us gays and leftists are fighting for -has nothing to do with religion.

I find it sad that the right who is (supposedly) against government interference in private life fights so hard against gay marriage.

Honest question then, why not just sign a contract (same thing but without vows), why not be ok with civil union or something? But like I said, I could care less about the whole thing. Actually, I'm ok with it, why not, people who love each other and care about each others well being. It's what life is all about anyway.

ssshhh, I'm on the right, a conservative, so don't tell anyone.. the left tells me I'm supposed to be totally against it.

Civil unions do not currently carry the same advantages as marriage. If they did, fewer people would care.

Yea, that's what the left tells everyone. I love being told what I believe.

I can understand but is it something that can be viewed the same by law, same advantages / disadvantages but with a different name. I guess what we call a union between two people doesn't matter so much. I can get what you are saying, if two people are building and living a life together then they should be able to have the same benefits.

Just like you made a sweeping generalization by telling us the left is against religion?
