Seems like some do not know how long the border between Texas and Mexico really is, 1000 NGs are not going to make squat in difference and it costs the State of Texas 12 Million a month to keep them there, money that would have been better spent beafing up the agencies that are already dealing with the mess. So some may cheer as if this will really make a difference but let me remind you that if the undertrained NGs shoot anyone, especially some child, there will be hell to pay and Perrys political career will be toast. Why do you think no one is Washington was pushing hard to put the State NGs on the border, it could turn into a bloodbath and anyone that pushed for it will pay politically and the backlash may effect many people besides politicians. So once again I remind everyone to be careful what you wish for, you just might get it and rarely do our dreams meet our expectations and once done it cannot be undone.

He's shaming this pathetic excuse for a president, who would rather fund-raise and party with the rich folk, sign papers on a luxury mansion in a neighborhood that will never have bused in illegals, and lecture, lecture, lecture instead of act.

This president needs to be shamed. I'm glad Perry's doing what he's doing. It shows leadership, and might just lead to some real action when the petulant clown in the WH realizes he's been made a fool of.

Politics may be some of the motivation here, but I actually think Perry cares what's happening down there. He's been dealing with this for several years now. Your assertion that he has done nothing but whine is wrong. As a governor of a border state, one with over 1, 200 miles of international border, means he has done a lot to help stop the flow. But protecting the border is a federal responsibility, as the Dept. Of Justice has argued in court when they have sued states for trying to do something on their own.

Uh; some laws I def agree with and I'll support them. Other laws I've broken like speeding down the road; if I got stopped and ticketed, it is what it is. Are YOU willing to risk getting put into your place or maybe arrested for breaking the laws?

Bloodbath? With more and more people like me becoming quite pissed off at illegal aliens; I don't there'll be much blowback if some illegal aliens paid with their lives since they ARE invaders.

Why did he wait 14 years? Yes, he has been whining and crying for years, and when people bring up the issue of building a fence, he says he does not want it. He wants tax payer money, the same thing he accuses others for wanting. If he wants the federal government to fix the problem, then he needs to push the Congress to sign the bill, which would authorize the National Guard and Border Patrol on federal dime. He is, and has been behaving like a partisan troll. He is a good example of what this nation DOES NOT need more of.

Have we ever had a surge like this before ?

Then you have Mr. DHS saying Perry would be better off spending his time working to get the immigration bill passed.

Even Wendy Davis is calling for local LE at the border. And she's a progressive liberal.
She wants Perry to send Sheriffs and Troopers to the border so they can make arrests.

Yes, we have had illegals crossing a border for a very long time.

True Davis does, but not the National Guard.
