You are saying Republicans voters, who demand reductions in welfare, asked for half a trillion dollar welfare expansion?

How about we try the truth? The expansion was a bribe to get retirees vote GOP in the upcoming election cycle, and you were duped into supporting it.

Default Is Obamacare worth all the lies?

So Gruber was a WH consultant being paid by the HHS. He lied, Obama lied and the Democrats lied. Libs and Democrats, is Obamacare worth it?

Why do you not answer questions and try to change the subject?

I'm sorry what is the title of this thread? It's not anything to do with the GOP...so please get back on subject....

The only people that were duped, are people such as you, and you continue to fight for it even after being told that you are stupid...

The roots of this actually go quite a ways back. Flashback to the Black Panther Party's goal of the total destruction of the U.S. Government and society as we know it. Elaine Brown (former leader of the original Black Panther Party) discusses the Black Panthers' goal of the end of capitalism and the "institution of a socialist scheme." The relevant part starts at about 7:00 in this NatGeo documentary clip, if you wish to FF...

"Mass organizing tactics." Obama was a community organizer. That's really all he's ever done, besides a brief ineffective stint in IL politics, and a lackluster presence in the U.S. Senate.

I think he's been a largely inneffective president. Much because of his arrogance and inability to connect or communicate, but also equally or more-so because he has not been allowed to do ANYTHING.

His goal is not to bring down the country, any more than W's goal was to turn us over to corporate interests and into a war machine. Presidents do what they do for love of country, and because they want their children, and their children's children to have a good place to live. Hate his vision, that's fair, but assuming his goal is to bring down our great country is evidence of you drinking the kool-aid too.

Much of what the right is afraid of is already writing on the wall. America is still the greatest nation on earth, but the playing field has changed, and the scenario that has made us great is different. To stay on top, we need to change, and stay ahead of the curve. There is (unfortunately) some equalling of the playing field, it is not this president's fault, or any others'. It just is.

I don't like a lot of what he's doing, but I also think a lot of it has been forced upon him by the right. (Example: Executive order on immigration. I think it's a bad move and bad timing, but the fact remains that there was a bill put forth by the Senate that the Republican led house REFUSED to bring to the floor. He didn't say "I will put out this executive order no matter what". He said "You (house) give me a bill, and I'll either sign it or veto, and live with the consequences. If you don't, I'll take action." That actually IS how it's supposed to work. In that the congress makes laws, and if they fail to do so, the administrative lead puts pressure on them to perform the task they were elected to do.

I guess my frustration is that the Congress is failing to do their job, and the ONLY response you get from the right, and from the media is "blame Obama". I have no issue with blaming him for a LOT, but not for everything. Why give the house and Senate a free pass? They are just as guilty, if not more....
Have you not heard of Harry Reid?
Bills from both dems and repubs litter the floor of the senate while the media tosses the phrase, 'do nothing congress' and obama refuses to negotiate after he tells the country he will listen to any good ideas.

Now who do you think Gruber was speaking about and who do you think embraced his words. Was Gruber admonished for saying such inflamatory words? No, the D-party and Obama moved their chairs closer to hear Gruber's words of wisdom and tales of creative accounting in a collaborative effort to pass a law that had to be smuggled in at night in disguise.

Obama promises were and are hot air and the foundation of a new world he promised is laid on swampland and the mortar holding the bricks is 3 part lies, and 2 parts failed theory.

Don't you feel just a little bit foolish having bought into? There is still time to break free and re-evaluate your position. Otherwise you stand with nefarious liars of low moral character. Associating with such hoodlums will impact your reputation.

It's ridiculous on it's face, since the MSM have always been agents of the Obama administration. They have never criticized him.

You're right. The growth in the numbers of takers is swiftly outpacing the contributors, because we've made it too easy and comfortable in this country to be a taker.

Let's look at how the unintended negative consequences of that is causing the demise of the U.S. using actual data...

We already know that...

1) Nearly half of all U.S. births are paid for by Medicaid (medical care public assistance program for the poor).
Medicaid Pays For Nearly Half of All Births in the United States | publichealth.gwu.edu

2) Those who receive public assistance have a birth rate 3 times higher than those who don't. Stats and citations, here:
//www.city-data.com/forum/32045595-post217.html

3) 70% of those who are born into poverty never even make it to the middle class.
Only 30% of those born poor ever make it to the middle class

How is that sustainable going forward? What's the plan for paying to support all those additional people, 70% of which are likely to need some or several forms of public assistance for life?

Let's take a look at the enormity of the problem using a numerical example...

Because we now have nearly 50% Medicaid births, we'll do a 1 to 1 comparison: 1 million receiving public assistance, 1 million not receiving such, the latest published birth rate numbers for each group (halved because the rates were reported for women only), and the formula for predicting future population: future value = present value x (e)^kt, where e equals the constant 2.71828, k equals the rate of increase (expressed as a decimal, rate taken from the U.S. Census data), and t is the number of years.

After 20 years, the population of those not receiving public assistance will have grown from 1 million to 1.75 million.

After 20 years, the population of those very likely needing public assistance will have grown from 1 million to 4.953 million, 3.467 million of which will never rise above poverty.

1.75 million paying taxes to support social programs for 3.467 million after just 20 years. The poverty class is growing at twice the rate of everyone else.

And that's not even counting the millions of poor illegal immigrants Obama plans on making eligible for public assistance.

Providing for an exponentially growing welfare-dependent class is unsustainable. That's a mathematical certainty.
