the point of choking someone is to stop them from breathing. SO if i'm choking someone, I assume its a good reason, then you would continue. . .but i would stick by a technique issue if your object is choke and they can still speak

Most of the blacks who are whining ignore that the police Sgt. in charge was a BLACK FEMALE.
That will not be discussed at all.

Resisting arrest caused the issue to begin with.

So was the cop suppose to ask him if he had health problems before he tried to arrest him or once he resisted should he do what?

How would you handle a large obese out of control man with health issues?

I would like to see what you would do under those circumstances?

No, but the cop could have released his hold when he said he couldn't breathe because he was no threat. And he was not out of control. With all the crime in NY they choose to focus on arresting someone selling cigarettes. I'm sure the citizens of that state slept better knowing that criminal was caught

If I was a cop in this situation, I would tell him to move on. He wasn't doing any harm. Let's go after the real criminals.

Also, those who know these things say he wasn't being choked -- only restrained. He died because of a medical condition -- yes, aggravated by the assault.
So your answer is: You would keep choking them. Very unimpressed.

The question omits the background information.

IF a felon resisting arrest said " I can't breathe !" but did not STOP resisting, it would be foolish to stop restraining him. He would have the opportunity to do more resisting.
However, if the felon resisting arrest STOPPED resisting, and complied, there would have been no reason to restrain him. Thus any subsequent injury after his compliance would be grounds for prosecution.

But common sense should not deter those who wish to defend felonious behavior, in order to extort power and money from the system.
