Will Someone Explain How A Carbon Tax Will Cool The Planet?

A Carbon Tax isn't suppose to cool the planet - It's suppose to make those who came up with the idea ungawdly rich.

EnvironMENTALism has been a huge money maker since the 70's ... It's a proven pay day for anyone who lacks the talent to make money in a traditional way.

The only people who would buy less are the underclass who have a hard time affording things to begin with. Everyone else would continue to be consumers, but their wallets will be a light bit lighter...

If the entire world did this CO2 levels would stop rising, and in a few hundred years or so CO2 levels would begin to decrease.....
No it would not, because most of the world would still rely on fossil fuel energy irregardless.... And in a few hundred years from now, permafrost leaks would take over co2 emissions (if you believe the climate models)

And try convincing the Indians, Chinese, and other developing nations to raise energy prices when nearly 2 billion people don't have a light bulb in their homes.

Great for you, but what about those who don't pay federal income taxes which in the US is 47% of all households? Do they just get a check in the mail then?

And a carbon tax (energy tax) would still make EVERYTHING more expensive. So it's a non starter here anyway.

When you tax something you get less use/sales of it. And when you tax carbon emissions you will get less emissions.

And carbon emissions do not effect us today, they will effect our children in the future. According to the EPA and NASA human carbon emissions could increase average global temperatures by 11.5°F by 2100. And a 11.5 degree temperature increase would devastate our farming and livestock areas.

Never mind that every product we use, has been made with the use of fossil fuel.

Just to cut emission rated to 1990 levels (from 2008), the lowest estimate is 45 trillion, and it could very well cost 545 trillion

Who's paying for this exactly? The American tax payer?

somehow, being punished (taxed) for emitting carbon emissions by the largest producer of carbon emissions in the history of the planet (US Fedguv), doesnt add up with me."Emissions for we but not for thee"
When will others catch on to this scam?

See, here's the funny part about the far right. They honestly believe that they can just ignore the problem.

The reality is that the climate is changing. Heck, it would be changing without human's hurrying it along. And climate change is notorious for causing empires to fall, civilizations to collapse, and so forth.

So, perhaps instead of seeing this as an "evil liberal plot." or trying to pretend that there is no problem, a better question is this:

Will someone explain to me how ignoring climate change to save a few bucks now won't result in certain disaster tomorrow?

There is no answer, of course, but I also know enough to realize that many people cannot be swayed by facts.

And all they had to do was enact a tax?

Sorry to break the news, 87%+ of world energy comes from carbon. Less than 1% high than what it was in 1994
