The video does not show him fighting 25-30 people, but it does show him coming back to fight more.
Your failure is explained by the fact that you are trying to use logic as opposed to viewing the video which shows what actually happened.
It seems that I saw him surrounded by around 30 people. It looks like 6-7 people were making physical contact with him. If you're being punched/stomped as he was and with such a large group of people mocking/yelling/laughing - it may seem as though you're fighting 10-15 people.
Either way, the animals need to be caged for as long as possible.
What should have been gleaned is that a gang of 40+ blacks attacked and viciously beat a white guy.
Simple.
If it had been 40 whites attacking and viciously beating a black guy, we'd never hear the end of it.
There would be at least 5 weeks of screaming headlines from all the mainstream newspapers. 24/7 chatter on cable TV. Al Sharpton showing up to organize protests.
...my point is simply to say there is such thing as mutual combat, and when the court rules a case as such, you don't have rights to sue.
