An not having to work to survive is ultimate freedom.
So said the farmer in 1860.

And yeah, farmers and other agricultural laborers went from the majority of workers to ~2% today. Labor force participation rate ain't anything close to 2% though.

You are correct. Many farm workers were replaced by machinery. The same with telephone operators, bank tellers, etc.

But, there was always another trade or profession to choose. But this availability of additional work in another field will eventually shrink. It will be a very interesting dilemma.

Really?
Is that why Americans do not take vacations? They think the vacation is unpaid and that no money comes in on those two weeks? Are you talking about part time employees that work by the hour?

A large disparity in balance of power leads to anti-worker results, like Americans having a paltry number of vacation days compared to other developed countries (same with parental leave, medical leave, sick leave etc).
And you know this for a fact?

Gotta love liberals. When faced with facts, they can't admit they were wrong, so they double down on "assumptions" that fit their narrative.

If we had a floor of minimum 2 weeks, many employers would offer more to stay competitive. Thats very good!
OK, for arguments sake I'll believe your wild accusation that "fear" is what keeps people from using their vacation days now. How exactly will that change if the government forces employers to offer a mandatory number of vacation days? Will that change the "fear"?

I want to see the stats that back up your claim that 74% of employers offer paid vacation days. Is that full time employees?

For the record, my husband doesn't use all his vacation days. He has so many that he chooses to take the cash that his company gives him for unused days instead. He's not afraid to take the days. In fact, we were actually on vacation when his boss called him to tell him he needed to take another week off by the end of the year, or he'd lose those days (he'd maxed out the days he could be paid for). His BOSS told him to stay on vacation another week.
