Aside from the part where governments (supposedly) has a desire to not create orphans, I don't see a problem with allowing potential fathers the option to sign away fatherhood in both the legal and financial sense. Whether during the pregnancy and/or a "document of intent" when getting paternity testing.

Part of that whole "people should not be forced into parenthood until they are actually ready and willing" thing.

Maybe they should add in that if the father does sue, then he has to get a vasectomy, make it a bit more fair.
If the father sues, it should come with a mandatory vasectomy and divorce with full forfeiture of all marital assets. Also be subject to paying alimony and child support. Plus any and all healthcare costs associated with the pregnancy along with being forced to carry to term. Physical and Mental.

what about there are abnormalities and/ or the mother's life is in danger and they need to have a D&E?
The article mentions that it's the procedure which is not allowed without the husbands' permission so a guy could just refuse to give permission even in case of the fetus being already dead inside, which means an infection and dead by septicemia for the mother.
Wow that's really owning your wife's body, the wet dream of any shariah laws lover

Did Bill Clinton write this law? If not, someone must have written it with him in mind.

Is this something that happens often in your world?

I agree. The choice to abort has to cut both ways: mother or father. If the mother wants to keep a baby the father doesn't want, that's on her. No 18+ years of child support.

While I am not to keen on this , be advised women can come to term and force fatherhood not only on an unwilling husband but on any unwilling man.

Now suppose we agree that the husband cannot prevent an abortion. Lets also agree that a man before the first trimester can opt out of fatherhood.
Let's also agree that a father must be notified of a pregnancy and given that option.

How do you plan on enforcing that?
