Yep. Comey was scared that there MIGHT be tapes, so he wanted to get a jump on things to cover his backside. Going on the offensive can be better than being defensive.
It is political plain and simple. I don't like the Lynch thing but know too little about it. Hillary's e-mails I don't like the how and the why the server was used but we all know she wasn't the only one to do so. There's even reports of Trump allegedly using one. Trump's issues however are troubling to Democracy if he fired the FBI director for the reasons he has double downed on, to end "This Russah thing."
I don't agree. I think that Comey and teh Democrats planned to keep the pot boiling forever, by "investigating" a phantasm. Not one person has said concretely either what the Russians "did" or what "collusion" there was with those actions. While it is a close call I think a Chief Executive has a right to call a halt to an endless investigation in search of a crime.

The reason we need to have an investigation is to see who from Trump's campaign team talked to Russians, when they did, why they did and what they did talk about. The way Trump is handling things makes him look far more guilty than he arguably is. Had he not asked Comey to not investigate Michael Flynn, and then fire Comey to end the Russia thing (Trump's own damn words) he would not be questionable for obstruction of justice charges. As I said Trump is in a catch-22 if he testifies on Capital Hill (whether on his own accord or forced to.)
As for your lastsentence, I ask who watches the watcher?

The focus of the investiogation is the Russian hacking into our election, but it has spilled over into the Trump campaign becasue of their dishonest answers regarding meeting with Russia. Trump isn't helping matters through some of his comments regarding wiretaps and tapes, if he wants this to go away he should just step out of the way and not comment. Reagan was silent during Iran Contra and it was completed in over a year. This may drag out for years with all the side issues.
Oh my God, Atlanta, thank you so much for pointing that out to us ! WOW (to use Waldos favorite word) Rubio cleaned Comeys clock and caught him in a massive cover up and lie ! WOW !! That Rubio is one smart cookie, I tell ya, look at how he reeled Comey in ! Why did we not all see that before you pointed it out ?
Now I have to go check out those Easter Bunny and Santa Claus stories to make sure we are not missing anything there too ! WOW !!!!!!
I thought you lived in a fairy tale world.
Now I know that you actually do!

Yes he does, and at this point, he should end it, but the Liberals would scream bloody murder, because they would say he was ending it to protect himself ...that he must be hiding something. That's they way they always work.

Dishonest answers?
Look, it has already been definitively established that he (the Trump Tower server) and his campaign and transition team were "wire tapped" (being surveilled), and that as a result of that surveillance, private citizens were illegally "unmasked."
The Democrats are purposely dragging this out, and they will continue to do so for as long as they can. This is their strategy, to obstruct the People's work. If they think this is helping them, they are mistaken. Democrats are exposing their own corruption, which is vast.
