And the yacht comment was slightly above nothing. In my troop, one kid brought porno mags. When we were about 14 or 15 someone brought a murder mystery book in which a serial killer raped and ate women. It was extremely graphic. The scout read it to us and called it "story time." If mothers don't want their children hearing things like that, they should keep them as far away from other 12 year old boys as possible, IMO.
Because it is wrong in an APOLITICAL organization like the Boy Scouts of America were until Monday July 24, 2017. That day they cheered someone and basically turned into the Hitler Youth for Trump voters. And this comes from an Eagle Scout who started as a Tiger Cub. Without even checking, I KNEW the BSA were apolitical. The program on a whole has a black eye from this week.

Even the Trump minions must have realized this was a poor idea.
What? Your writing here seems to imply that I found it acceptable. What gave you that idea?

Not a single leader got their troop up and walked out.

Not a single organizer said enough of this nonsense and pulled the plug on this political rally.

All the time and effort put into guiding wild boys into good men only to send them off to cheer and boo along with this sorry excuse for a President.

When our boys crossed over to Boy Scouts, this is not at all what we had in mind.

This sentiment is apparently shared by others whose sons are still in Scouting.
There's no way you could possibly know that for certain.

I wasn't communicating clearly.

Clearly, you do not find it acceptable.

However, Scout leaders such as yourself were at the Jamboree.

Presumably, they are all aware of what Scouting is about. Why are there no stories about BSA leaders trying to put a stop to this?

Everything I've seen reported so far is that there was enthusiastic and vocal support for Trump trashing various people.

If you have reports of leaders who tried to put a stop to this, who walked out with their Scouts, please post the link. I've not seen anything.

You're right.

Do you have links to stories about Scout leaders walking out with their Scouts?

I haven't either, but I'm not willing to assume anything either way. I'll wait for a firsthand account from our friends who are at Jamboree and will be returning early next week.

I'll await word from your friends.

Everything I've seen so far describes enthusiastic support for Trump's nonsense.

Well I'm glad the Boy Scouts apologized for the Trump speech.

Guess that's why the head of the Scouts issued an apology for Trump's offensive comments. Disgusting F___ing pig.
