Bemoaning big government while simultaneously advocating using government power to force children to repeat an oath of loyalty. The lack of self awareness is astounding.

Along with teaching young people real-world skills like reading, science and mathematics, the school system exists to teach then how to conform to societal standards making them good worker bees and obedient citizens in the real world when they become adults. It's our job as parents to teach them alternatives to those expectations so they can become free-thinkers and make their own decisions as adults.

I don't understand this argument that keeps getting put forth.

"Children aren't able to understand what kneeling means, thus, it is imperative that they stand"

That's cause it is a dumb argument. If anything, it is an argument against having the pledge in school at all, which I doubt was the intent.

Default Lefties vs righties I guess

What the hell are you pontificating about? What is a leftist poison? What is a rightist poison? What's a leftist and a rightist? I'm right-handed, does that make me a rightist?

Why do you say that for every problem there is a solution that's simple and clean? No one else in this thread has suggested that, except for your stating it here. You sound quite silly making such a ridiculous assertion.

I haven't seen anyone put such a nonsense statement out. Except you are stating it here.

Why do you say that since children aren't able to understand what kneeling means, then they must stand?

Your publick eddicashun is shining through.
