Is it any wonder that their pollsters whiffed on calling the election last year and figure to do likewise in 2018 and 2020 since the Democrats have no bench and still can't comprehend why they lost?
Because they need to take Civics, and History courses because they think the Federal Government created the States.

I am ashamed to live in the rural South personally because I don't agree with the predominant mentality around here.
Things could be worse where you live, if your county still hasn't legalized liquor by the drink.

Maybe you'll be one soon.
Kind of like how the dems/libs who voted for Obama in 2008 fell for his "hope and change" and blamed Bush for everything.

They only support things like free speech and free press when it benefits them and they want to restrict opposing viewpoints from getting the same treatment. Their ideal society is something that isn't far off from "A Handmaid's Tale." The only "rights" they support are gun rights.

This is the Internet so I have to say that of course, I know that not EVERYONE who lives in rural America think like this. However, this worldview is quite common.

Wow, where is the hole do you live in down South. I myself am from the South. Born and raised. And I know literally no people who believe the things you just wrote in this post. Not sure where you hang your hat, but where I come from people believe in the Constitution and all the rights and privileges provided by it. Not just guns and limited free speech. I think you might be confusing southerners for liberals. But mind you, I'm just guessing.

PS. Sorry, but I couldn't help but say one thing. I'm assuming that you would frown upon "creationism" being taught in school. But I'd bet you would have no problem with the "Big Bang" theory being taught to your kids as if it was a known fact. You see, I have a problem with that sort of thinking, because the bottom line is, both creationism and the "Big Bang" are theories, nothing more. Scientists can no more absolutely say the "Big Bang" happened than they can say there absolutely is no God. I'm sorry, but just because one theory sounds more scientific than the other should not negate the fact that neither are proven fact. Both ideas are theories and should be treated as such.

It's gotten to the point of being totally toxic, and that part of the problem is coming mostly from the urban side. I've never seen so much disregard, contempt, and downright hatred from Americans directed to other Americans. It's disgusting. Not only that, but as another poster said, "That's how you get moar Trump." These liberal talking heads would do well to tone it down, but it seems they can't get past Hillary's loss long enough to see the damage they're doing.
I know there are family farms left. Just not many. I disagree with your hypothesis about SoCal hating on NorCal. It's actually the opposite. LOL I don't get it personally but it is what it is and it is just general BS... The farmers from the central valley sell their goods at farmers markets on the coasts. There are also farms literally on the coast. I mean literally. Many of the white racists in the interior CA voted for Trump and now regret it. Stupid to vote for someone that wants to remove your cheap labor. I think everyone got over Ms. Clinton losing back in November 2016 - a year ago or shortly after the election. If you think this way then you don't get it. Imagine what kind of country we could be if the middle wasn't dragging us down. Seriously.

If in Oklahoma, make sure its one of the 20 or so rural counties where liquor by the drink still isn't legalized, even though they have been able to do it since 1984.

LOL, The Electoral College sure didn't work to protect you from President Obama.

That's what rural tourism largely has to offer in rural Oklahoma.

Senators were meant to represent the state government of their state and the Reps in the House are meant to represent the people of those states. That is why the Reps are by population and the Senators are 2 for each state only. Do we really need to teach these people this basic civics fact in 2017? With it set up like this the more populous states have adequate representation in the House.

And I accepted the outcome, and didn't whine, and complain for eight years about the election. My point was that Metro Areas, including their surrounding suburbs are now largely Democrat, and Progressive. They shouldn't have the power to rule the entire country because of their mass insanity.
