It may seem the same to people who spend miles, but it is very different.

You pay with miles and the airline can do whatever they please. Welcome to free enterprise.
SJL didn’t pay to be bumped up to first class.

LOL. The lady clearly cancelled her flight then tried to get the same seat back, but it was claimed by the person who was next on the waiting list, so she had to purchase a seat with the peasants. Then in her pettiness had to get a picture of the person that "victimized" her. This is fake outrage. And at this point anybody still nobody should feel sorry for her. She'll be fine. Life goes on.

Except other stories state SJL doesn't pay for first class then demands she be upgraded.

Referring to herself as a *queen* tells me everything I need to know about her as a human being. She's got the highest turnover rate of anyone on Capitol Hill for more than a decade because she's abusive and mean to people who won't kiss her behind and has been rated among the worst people to work for.

And rather than demanding more of those who represent us you see people crafting fairy tales about all of this so they don't have to accuse a black woman of bad behavior. They are also part of the problem.

Why do people think they can get away with lying about what happened as though anyone other than fellow SJW's are going to believe them? It's simply moronic.

I don't know why you're so convinced this is the story. This is what the airline alleged happened (they insinuated she canceled her flight because it got delayed - doesn't sound accidental - as the second allegation people are making about her - to me if that's their story). She had a boarding pass in her hand and was waiting in the lounge to board, so I fail to see how she canceled the flight. This is the airline that has been in hot water at least two other times this year for similar stories, one of them dragging an unconscious man off the plane when the airline bumped him when he was already seated, for an employee to take his spot.

I feel bad for anyone taken advantage of by airlines which clearly hold some people to a higher level than others. Any regular person should be bothered by these stories because it could happen to any of us, unless we're politicians, airline employees, probably celebrities, etc.

She gets milage for travel to and from home to DC. The milage is on a scale predicated on distance from the district to DC.

And she can use campaign funds to pay for a ticket. I would think she would use the taxpayer dollars for travel and save her FF miles for personal use.

The other woman''s entire ticket was FF miles. SJL prolly paid for her ticket, the taxpayer did, and then she got bumped up because she paid for a regular ticket.

The is my understanding of how those miles work.

SJL almost certainly flies on a full fare coach fare. That is standard business practice when you need flexibility. It lets you make multiple reservation and then cancel all but one once you know what you are actually going to do. One advantage of full fare coach tickets is that the airlines will often let you upgrade relatively cheaply particularly if you have high mileage status. So this bag of b*tching into a first class seat is mostly nonsense. The VIP office which handles such people may also upgrade on occasion. But I suspect on that run she would seldom need more than the normal as she claimed.
She has been reelected multiple times which is a good indication of how her constituents view her. That her staff is unhappy is too bad but not really relevant.

And yet no airline has complained about any other government official getting the same perks? Why is that?

Her 53% turnover rate sure is relevant because it speaks to her reputation for being entitled and mean. She's not a decent human being who treats others respectfully. She insists she's a queen and demands to be treated like royalty.

But you continue making excuses for her because, as usual, you and 8won6 have an agenda and being honest about her bad behavior doesn't fit your narrative.

Why on earth would the airlines complain? You do not understand that they maintain offices to take care of politicians and celebrities and even high mileage flyers? This too complex for you folk?

Your post is more nonsense. That employees do not like a boss is not an unusual stance. It happens. I know a couple of bad asses who were great at what they did and hated to the last man. Once ran a hundred people in an organization based on hate of our bosses boss. Did wonders.

Why on earth do you think I like SJL? If she died tomorrow I would not shed tear one. And if she got devastated in the next election again not a tear.

Simply trying to explain to the idiot right wing how things actually work.

Either way. It's poor practice for the airline and a terrible example by a serving member of the US Congress. The fact that the duchess has not apologized says she's better than this little person, a teacher who finally got a break to travel up front.

Dirty...and typical.

It is a standard airline practice and has been so forever. And the poor little teacher is an Ivy League Lawyer who had 150,000 miles to dump on a first class fun trip...so absolutely the same or higher class than the Congresswoman. So the airlines worse case screwed a queen to benefit a queen. Why all the tears...a little racism in there?
